Theatrical performances with puppets occupy a special place in the upbringing of children. The child's participation in the production of the play develops his imagination, initiative and self-confidence. Children who create fairy-tale characters for puppet theater together with adults learn to work with partners and acquire useful skills. Puppets for the theater can be made from a variety of materials at hand.

Balloon toys

Materials for making such dolls are balloons, paper, cloth, threads, glue, paints. The head is made from an inflated balloon. A nose for a doll can be made as follows: at a not tightly inflated ball, pull a part with a thread in place of the nose. The eyes and mouth can be drawn on paper and glued to the ball. Hair is made from threads and is also glued. The ball is fixed on a stick approximately 25 cm long. A bag-shaped garment is sewn from the fabric, pulled together and attached to the neck. Strips of fabric are sewn to the "shoulders" of the craft instead of hands. An elastic band must be attached at the end of the strips. A balloon doll is led together, wearing elastic bands on the wrist.

Bibabo dolls

The bibabo doll is a head worn on the index finger, and the thumb and middle fingers represent the hands of the toy. For such dolls, you can sew dresses from bright variegated fabric and decorate with unusual elements, such as a belt or a pocket. Heads can be made from a variety of materials - foam rubber, papier-mâché, fabric. A child can make a papier-mâché head on their own, with a little help from an adult. From plasticine, you need to mold the shape of the head. Having coated the form with petroleum jelly, you can begin to glue it over with torn pieces of newspaper, at least in three layers. After the workpiece dries out, it is cut into two parts and the mold is removed from it. The workpiece is glued again, leaving a hole for the finger at the bottom. Glue a cardboard tube into this hole. After drying, the child can decorate the blank of the head to his liking - draw eyes, mouth, nose. Then the head is sewn to the dress.

Dolls from boxes

It will be interesting to make dolls from waste material, for example, from cardboard packaging. The only condition is that the child's hand should enter the box. The box can represent either only the head or the entire figure of the doll. In the first case, you will have to sew a fabric skirt. To decorate the box, the child must show imagination.

Dolls from mittens

Old unnecessary mittens are an excellent material for making a theatrical toy. If the mitten represents the head, then the thumb serves as its nose. If you make an animal from a mitten, then the finger will be the tail. Another option is to make a torso for a doll man out of a mitten. Then you need to sew the head and hands to the mitten. You can decorate the mitten by sewing pieces of fabric and thick threads on it. If there are no unnecessary mittens, they can be sewn from knitted items.
