Survival skills are an integral part of knowledge and experience. The most severe climatic period on the territory of the Russian Federation is the beginning and end of winter, when the air temperature becomes very low, and much more energy has to be spent for heating than in other periods. In the winter forest, a person also needs heating. Fire can be chosen as the simplest heat source.
Instructions
Step 1
Clear snow for firewood and for a bonfire if no campfire is nearby.
Step 2
Look for some dead trees, as it will be easier to start a fire and keep it going than using raw wood. You need firewood of various sizes: it will be more convenient to chop the thick ones if you prudently took an ax or a small hand saw with you. Also collect brushwood, small dry branches. If you do not have dry fuel, it will also not be superfluous to grab a liquid for ignition or paper in advance.
Step 3
Take brushwood and twist a thick bunch out of it. Place it on the site of the future fire. Crumpled paper can be placed underneath if available. You can use dry fuel tablets.
Step 4
Add thicker branches on top and around, placing them in a criss-cross pattern like the top of the hut. Try to give stability to the structure. Leave the thickest logs for a later time, when the fire is hot enough.
Step 5
Light brushwood, paper, dry fuel. To do this, use matches or a gas lighter.
Step 6
Until the fire gradually flares up sufficiently, observe it carefully and do not let it die out. If you notice that it is weakening, add some brushwood or papers. You can use thin pieces of wood by shaving them off with an ax or knife blade.
Step 7
If you did everything correctly, then you will have a fairly intense flame. Use larger firewood in it.
