All kinds of colors, shades, saturation and brightness of colors - all this affects a person's perception of any object, be it a painting, plant, clothing or interior. The amazing variety of colors around the world is based on just three primary (pure) colors, everything else is shades obtained by mixing them. To get a harmonious color combination, you need to know how to mix colors.
Instructions
Step 1
Decide what the end result should be. If you want a pure solid color, use the color mixing rules. The main colors that cannot be obtained by mixing other colors are red, blue and yellow. But if you mix them together, you get a new color. So, to get green, mix equal parts blue and yellow, to get purple, take red and blue, for orange - red and yellow. If you want brown, mix green and red, and for sea won, use blue and green.
Step 2
Use bright base paints for a rich final color. If you want pastel colors, choose light base colors or add some white. The proportions in which you mix the colors will determine the final result.
Step 3
Mixing different colors and shades in one thing (image, room, clothes) also needs to be wisely. In order not to end up with a disharmonious picture, remember the rules for combining colors. Choose shades that are close to each other in the color palette. Close to each other are located, for example, such shades as dark blue, blue, light blue.
Step 4
In addition, watch out for the "temperature regime", because colors can also be cold and warm. Yellow and green or red and orange are close to each other in color and temperature.
Step 5
For vibrant, dynamic combinations, use the opposite color (that is, the color opposite your chosen color in the color wheel). By the way, such combinations are often found in wildlife. For example, red and green (flowers, berries), blue and yellow (night sky and moon), blue and orange. To define the opposite color to the selected one, open any graphics editor.
Step 6
White and black are universal colors, they can be combined with any other colors and shades. These colors do not belong to "pure", they are also obtained by mixing other colors of the spectrum.
