After visiting the puppet theater, many people want to arrange the same in their own performance at home. This will require not only scenery and a stage, but also theatrical puppets. They are sold extremely rarely and are often made to order. This process is long and begins with a sketch, selection of materials and choosing a way to control the doll. However, you can make a theatrical doll with your own hands literally from improvised items.

Instructions

Step 1

An example of the simplest doll in making: it is necessary to roll up a lump of newsprint, wrap it with a string and fix it on a stick that will be a holder (the strings will act as hands, and the face can be drawn on paper).

Step 2

The material for dolls can be very diverse. So, pretty funny dolls can be made from a sock. To do this, take a sock, make a cut in the cape of the sock, and sew small pieces of cloth in the upper and lower parts of the cut to form the doll's mouth. On the surface of the sock, you can sew fur, button eyes and whatever your imagination wishes. Put the finished doll on your hand and control it with your finger movements.

Step 3

Another option to make a doll yourself is to take an ordinary glove, cut a hole in a tennis ball under your finger, draw a face on it, glue your hair (you can use a bundle of threads, wires and other similar materials). On the glove, you can draw the doll's clothes, and sew the doll's handles into the slot on the finger. In the end, the finished head is put on a finger, and a doll is obtained. Separate costumes can be sewn for these dolls.

Step 4

A rather original type of doll is a shadow doll. Cut out the images of the characters from a dense material (for example, cardboard), attach them to a stick to hold the doll in your hand. The puppeteer is positioned between the light source and the surface on which the doll's shadow will be cast. Parts of the doll can be made movable using studs, on which they will be attached to the doll and fishing line, to make these parts move. Such dolls can be made multi-colored if the material is colored and transparent.

Step 5

The most famous doll is the marionette doll. This doll is set in motion using a special system of threads, which are controlled by the puppeteer. The threads are attached to the limbs of the doll with wire loops on them. In this case, the movement is controlled by manipulating the slats, to which threads are attached, each extending from a different limb.
