Moisture maintenance is provided by a water evaporation device. Most humidification systems require the use of demineralized water.

For personal storage of cigars, it is best to purchase a humidor - a special box equipped with a humidifier. Many humidors are equipped with a hygrometer that indicates the relative humidity level. You can even "revive" a dry or waterlogged cigar in the humidor. You should start smoking the cigar as soon as you remove it from the humidor.
