Textile dolls, sewn with their own hands, store the creative power and emotional charge of the craftswoman, and therefore are much more valuable than factory dolls that are sold in stores. A handmade doll is an exclusive and original gift, an unusual and memorable souvenir. Even a novice needlewoman can sew such a doll according to a pattern.
Instructions
Step 1
Draw a pattern on paper - two arms, a torso with a head and two legs. Each detail must be in duplicate. Then select the appropriate natural fabrics for sewing the doll. Transfer the pattern to the fabric chosen for the doll's body and cut out the pieces with seam allowances.
Step 2
Sew together the details of the arms, legs, and torso. Turn the blanks out and fill them with soft filler, but do not fill the parts completely so that the doll can bend. Stitch around the knees on the doll's legs, and then distribute the filler in the legs so that it is not in the knees.
Step 3
Sew the knees with fine stitches. Sew the arms to the torso with a blind stitch. Insert the upper leg allowances into the lower edge of the body and carefully sew in a circle with a blind stitch. Sew on the legs of the doll so that there is no free space between them, and so that they are symmetrical. After the doll's body is ready, move on to creating the hairstyle and clothes.
Step 4
Take a pencil and mark the eyes with dots on the doll's face, also outline the boundaries of the hairstyle. Take a cotton thread of the desired color, insert it into the embroidery needle and carefully embroider the doll's bangs with an ordinary satin stitch. Then embroider the side strands and the back of the head. Hide the ends of the threads inside the hairstyle.
Step 5
From each side strand, braid and sew braids using a needle and crochet hook. Pigtails can be woven into a simple chain of air loops. Use French knots to embroider the doll's eyes.
Step 6
Take the bright fabric of your choice for the doll's clothes and cut it out for pants or jumpsuit. Sew the leg pieces together and sew on the cuffs in a different color if desired. Dress the doll, and then sew a belt over the clothes, folding the folds and hiding the allowances of the upper part of the doll's clothes in the belt. Sew on the straps of your jumpsuit or outerwear.
Step 7
From a bright patch of fabric, cut out two parts of the scarf and sew them together, and then turn them out so that the scarf is double-sided. Decorate the doll's clothes with beads, buttons, ribbons, decorative lace.
