Did you know that all kinds of crafts are made from the leaves of such plants as palm and magnolia in warm countries? Making a wicker napkin from leaves is not so difficult. Of course, the palm tree is a wonder for Russians, but there are plenty of reeds and marsh iris.
It is necessary
- - leaves of marsh iris or reeds;
- - 4 colors of acrylic paint;
- - double sided tape;
- - brush;
- - stapler;
- - scissors.
Instructions
Step 1
Place the selected leaves on a flat surface. Before you start painting the working material, you need to put a newspaper or paper under it, so as not to ruin the table. Take a brush, dip it in acrylic paint, then paint the leaves of the plants. Let the leaves dry completely, then spread so that the 2 colors alternate with each other.
Step 2
You can start weaving a future napkin. Take a dyed leaf of the plant and start passing it across the row so that it goes through one leaf.
Step 3
Then take the next sheet. It must be woven in the same way as the previous one, only it must pass over the sheet over which the first one did not pass. In other words, alternate the leaves in a checkerboard pattern.
Step 4
So you need to weave until the very end of the future napkin. At the end of this process, it is necessary to cut off excess leaves so that small allowances remain.
Step 5
Wrap the remaining allowances on the underside of the napkin, then secure them with a stapler.
Step 6
Then take a double-sided cattle and glue it onto the edges of the napkin you just fixed.
Step 7
Take the painted leaves and glue them along the edges of the product, observing the alternation of colorful leaves, that is, so as not to disturb the pattern of the craft.
Step 8
Carefully cut off the excess edges of the freshly glued leaves. The wicker leaf napkin is ready!
