It just seems that for girls you can knit a lot of different clothes, but for boys the choice is limited. This is not true. A huge number of masterpieces are easily knitted on the needles. But the leader among the models is, of course, the jacket.
It is necessary
- wool;
- knitting needles;
- knitting pattern
Instructions
Step 1
In order to knit a jacket for a boy, you need to decide on the model of the product: whether it will be fastened with buttons or will become one-piece, the collar should be classic or with a V-neck. When you decide, choose the right yarn, knitting needles and start knitting. Don't forget to measure your child so that the jacket fits.
Step 2
Cast on the needles the required number of loops. Calculate what you need based on the age of the child, so, for example, each size change is +/- 10 loops. Now start knitting the elastic. Best of all with a 2x2 pattern (2 front, 2 purl alternately). It will help the jacket to shrink better and will sit more tightly on the child. Knit like this about 2 centimeters high (that's about 4 rows).
Step 3
Then, if you knit a fairly simple sweater with no frills, continue knitting with knit stitch or garter stitch. If you are planning a jacket with a pattern or pattern, then add it as indicated in the diagram. Try on the canvas for your child. At the level of the chest for the armhole, subtract 1 loop in every second row. Repeat this 4 canvas you need 4 times. When you knit the back, you need to close the fabric at the top at the level of the neck. When in front, then at the height of the clavicle, you need to close the loops in the middle and gradually decrease 1 loop at the edges to get a cutout.
Step 4
Next, take care of the sleeves. To do this, again, you need to dial in loops and knit with an English elastic band. In the same way as you trimmed the bottom of your sweatshirt. Knitting of sleeves is not much different from the main fabric - in the same way, either front knitting or garter knitting. Here are just the canvas itself will be smaller and you need to add 1 st loop in every 4th row. And so do about 10-15 times (depending on the length of the arm). Closer to the end of the knitting of the sleeves, you need to subtract 1 loop in each 2nd row 4 times. And you can close knitting. The second sleeve is knitted in the same way.
Step 5
Now you need to build. First, moisten the parts and dry them. This is necessary for the threads to straighten out and give their natural shrinkage. Then start sewing the product. To do this, process all the seams, sew in the sleeves and trim the edges on the shoulders. You can simply sew them together, or you can sew on a button with an air loop or a button. That's it, your jacket is ready.
