Fleece is prized for its warmth and lightness. It is often used as an intermediate layer to insulate clothing. However, the appearance of this material allows you to display it on the front side of things. For example, you can sew comfortable warm mittens out of fleece.

It is necessary

  • - paper;
  • - pencil;
  • - ruler;
  • - scissors;
  • - fleece;
  • - wool;
  • - threads;
  • - sewing machine.

Instructions

Step 1

Make a pattern for the mittens. Circle your brush on a piece of paper, then add 1-1.5 cm of seam allowances around the entire perimeter. Fold a piece of fleece in half. Attach the pattern of the right mitten to it and circle it with a chalk. To prevent the pattern from moving, you can pin it with pins. Cut out two pieces for the mitten for the right hand, then do the same for the left hand.

Step 2

For warmth and softness of the inner layer of the mittens, make a lining of wool. You can buy ready-made woolen linen or felted by yourself. Spread plastic wrap on the table. Spread the strands of wool on it. Lay them parallel to each other, then when a square a little larger than your hand is ready, lay out the second layer of material - the strands should be perpendicular to the previous layer. Having made 3-4 layers, begin to roll them away. For the speed of the process, it is preferable to use the wet felting technique. Dampen the wool blank and grind it with a vibrating grinder. If there is none on the farm, rub the wool by hand, wetting and stroking it over and over again.

Step 3

When a solid canvas is formed, cut out the part for the mitten from it according to the pattern without taking into account the allowances. The second workpiece is done in the same way. Then insert thick cardboard between the parts. Place pieces of wool around the perimeter of the mitten so that they grip both sides of the mitten. Weld on these pieces by joining the two pieces together.

Step 4

Fold the fleece patterns of the mitten right side in. Sew them with a zigzag stitch. Turn the mitten inside out and insert the wool lining into it. Measure the length of the mitten hole. Cut the silk ribbon to the same size. Spread it around the hole, wrapping half the width of the tape inward. Sew the tape with a zigzag seam (the width should be the same as the width of the edging). The ribbon will connect the lining to the front part and at the same time will decorate the mitten.
