Childhood

Petr Alekseevich Poroshenko was born in the city of Bolgrad, Odessa region, Ukrainian SSR. His father was the head of the agricultural machinery department, and his mother worked as an accountant. According to unofficial data, Petro Poroshenko's father once bore the surname Valtsman, but in connection with the criminal prosecution he took his wife's surname.

During his school years, the future president of Ukraine was not very interested in studying, but was actively involved in judo and even fulfilled the standard of a candidate for master of sports in this single combat.

Education

After leaving school, Peter entered the Faculty of International Relations of Kiev State University. From the second year he was drafted into the Soviet Army (then the postponements from the army to university students were canceled). He served in Kazakhstan, took part in hostilities.

Political career

In 1998, Poroshenko was first elected to the Parliament of Ukraine. Then he supported President Kuchma. But soon he changed the political vector and joined Yushchenko's party. During Yushchenko's presidency, Poroshenko served as foreign minister. But with the coming to power of Yanukovych, Pyotr Alekseevich, together with the cabinet of ministers, was dismissed.

Poroshenko did not grieve for long. In the opinion of the people, the current president of Ukraine was the sponsor of the Orange Revolution and Euromaidan. However, Poroshenko himself does not deny his financial participation in these events.

A family

Petro Poroshenko got married early, at the age of 18. His wife, Marina Poroshenko, gave the oligarch four children - two boys and two girls. The godparents of Poroshenko's children are famous people in Ukraine, including Viktor Yushchenko.

Poroshenko's wife is a cardiologist. She claims that her husband is a wonderful family man and a wonderful father.
