A winter fishing tent is a great way to create a comfortable and cozy fishing atmosphere. At first glance, it seems that the tent cannot be warm when there is frost and cold wind around. However, this is not at all the case! A properly set up ice fishing tent becomes an excellent, reliable shelter that can increase both the time and productivity of ice fishing. If the tent is not properly set up, it will render even the most expensive model useless and increase the risk of the entire structure being blown away by strong winds.

How to easily and correctly set up a winter fishing tent

It is necessary

A tent for winter fishing, a snow shovel, screw jacks, stretchers, a few stones or water bags

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare a site for setting up a winter tent. If there is snow, clear it.

Step 2

Open the tent for winter fishing in the chosen and prepared place. Make sure the base of the tent fits completely onto the prepared area.

The tent should be level and flat against the ground.

Step 3

All winter tents have special holes for the so-called screw jacks.

Screw-in is the general name for the screw-type tent hooks that are screwed into the ice.

After setting up the tent, it is imperative to fix it with these same screws by passing the screw into a special hole on the awning or skirt (depending on the design of the tent)

Step 4

If the day is windy, it is also recommended to install stretch marks. The braces are installed in the same way - the lower part of the brace is tied to the screwdriver.

Upper - is threaded through a special hole on the tent awning or on its frame. We advise you to do this even in calm weather, because strong and sudden winds often walk on frozen bodies of water.

Step 5

Next, you need to sprinkle the skirt of the tent with snow. All winter tents are equipped with this skirt. If it is not there, it will not work to warm up the tent.

For correctness, we spread the skirt around the entire perimeter of the tent and sprinkle it tightly with snow.

Step 6

It may happen that the winter is not snowy, and the lake is already frozen. In this case, the technique of using stones can help. We press down the skirt with stones around the entire perimeter. This is worse than a snow barrier, but it will improve the situation at least a little.

Step 7

If suddenly there were no stones, we take out the bags, fill them with water and lay them around the perimeter.

Step 8

If there is a very strong wind on the pond, there is one interesting trick - the top of the tent dome is tied to an ice ax, which is screwed into the center of the tent.
