Different situations sometimes force you to do a wide variety of work, including technical work, for which ordinary everyday clothes are not suitable. To protect your hands and not to get expensive, store-bought gloves, there is work overalls - work gloves and mittens. However, you don't have to buy them if you have old denim or other thick fabric in your home that you don't want to throw away. You can sew sturdy, high-quality work gloves out of old jeans that will fit exactly your size in a minimum of time.
Instructions
Step 1
On a piece of paper, draw a pencil around your hand, and then draw the main outline of the mitten around the outlined area - it should be slightly wider than your palm for a loose fit and have rounded edges.
Step 2
On the pattern, do not forget to add 1-2 cm to the total size of the mittens for hem and seams.
Step 3
Take two layers of thick fabric, pin it together with sewing pins and carefully trace the pattern with tailor's chalk. Circle the pattern twice, mirroring it a second time so that you have blanks for two gloves on the fabric.
Step 4
Cut out the blanks and sew them on the sewing machine from the wrong side. Leave the line of the opening of the mitten, through which it is put on the hand, unstitched.
Step 5
Then cut and sew exactly two more exactly the same mittens - place them inside the first mittens to strengthen and warm the structure. Sew together the top edges of the inner and outer mittens, both right and left.
Step 6
Using this simple sewing technique, you can sew not only work gloves, but also smart mittens decorated with embroidery and appliqués from faux fur, felt, fleece or other soft and warm fabric suitable for sewing mittens.
