It seems that learning how to knit them is very difficult. However, it is not.

It is necessary

  • - a set of stocking needles of five pieces No. 3, 5-4;
  • - 1 skein of yarn 200m / 100g;
  • - tape measure.

Instructions

Step 1

To determine the size of the mittens, you need to measure the girth of the hand and its length. Then knit a 10x10cm pattern with the front stitch. Calculate the number of mitten loops required. Type the resulting number of loops on the knitting needles. Turn the work over and knit one row with a 2x2 elastic band. When you reach the end of the loops, evenly distribute the total on the four needles. Join the knitting in a circle by tying the thread to the end of the thread from the beginning of knitting. Knit with a 2x2 elastic band about 5-7 cm.

Step 2

Continue knitting. Measure the distance from the beginning of the hand to the thumb, it is approximately 5-7 cm. Exactly how much you need to knit in a circle in height. Now you need to make a hole for the thumb. Please note that two knitting needles refer to the palmar side of the mittens, the remaining two to the back. On the right mitten, the hole is made on the third knitting needle from the beginning of knitting, on the left - on the fourth. It will be more convenient to use an additional thread of a contrasting color. Knit 3-4 stitches on a knitting needle with a working thread, then the hole stitches using the auxiliary thread. The number of loops of the hole is 4/5 of the number of loops on one knitting needle. Having knitted the required number of loops, cut the thread. Move the just knitted stitches back to the knitting needle and knit them with a circular working thread to the height of the end of the little finger.

Step 3

We proceed to decrease the loops along the side parts of the mitten, which gradually tapers towards the middle finger. We knit two loops from the first knitting needle together with a tilt to the left, the last two loops on the second knitting needle we knit together with a tilt to the right. We do the same with the loops from the third and fourth knitting needles. Decrease the loops in each row, trying on the palm (or focusing on the size of the palm length, if you knit as a gift). If the decreases are too fast, then do them through the row. When you reach the desired height of the mitten, pull the remaining 4 loops from each knitting needle through one of them, tighten the tip and hide it from the wrong side of the mitten.

Step 4

Gently pull out the contrasting thread and insert the knitting needles into the loops. In the upper part, the number of loops is one less. Divide the bottom of the stitches into 2 knitting needles and pull one more stitch on each knitting needle from the side of the resulting hole. Do the same with the top of the hinges. Now knit in a circle with the front stitch to the height of the middle of the thumbnail. Decrease the loops in the same way as at the top of the mitten. Hide the tail of the thread on the wrong side of the knitted finger. The mitten is ready!

The second mitten is knitted in the same way, but the thumb is knitted on the other side.

Step 5

You can knit simple and smooth mittens from beautiful yarn. And you can make them colorful and bright. Perhaps they will be with a jacquard pattern. Or with many braids or even fringe around the edge. This is how knitting is loved - you can create a unique and exclusive thing that will not only serve its intended purpose, but also show the bright individuality of its owner.
