Shorts are considered the most summer clothing. In addition, they are convenient and comfortable in everyday life, at home or, for example, during sports training. However, their main purpose is summer clothing for various occasions. Women's shorts come in a variety of sizes and shapes - breeches, below the knee, mini, loose, tight-fitting, classic denim. In order to stand out from the crowd, it is better to sew them yourself.
It is necessary
graph paper for building patterns; ruler; pencil; scissors; pins; fabric - 1 m; rubber; non-woven fabric; zipper-fastener (length 14 cm); decorative button
Instructions
Step 1
Make the following measurements using a measuring tape: shorts length; waist circumference; hip circumference; leg circumference at the end of the length of the shorts. To build a pattern of shorts, you need to decide what kind of fabric the shorts will be made of and which model you prefer. After that, proceed to building a pattern.
Step 2
Build a pattern for the pants you want. The construction of the pattern of shorts is done on the basis of the transformation of the pattern of the trousers. And then, based on the pattern created, draw a pattern for the shorts. To do this, draw a horizontal line across the length of the pants pattern (the distance depends on the desired length of the shorts). After that, cut off the bottom of the pattern (along the line of the final length of the leg) and attach a new piece of graph paper to create an edge fold pattern, and the width should be slightly larger than the width of the leg of the shorts being made along the line of the final length.
Step 3
Draw three parallel lines below the final length of the shorts. Draw one at a distance of 4 cm from the line of final length, the second, retreating 4 cm from the first line, and the third, retreating 2 cm from the second line. Cut off any excess paper below line 3. After that, fold the pattern in the places where the three drawn lines pass. Mark the continuation of the hem line from the main pattern of the shorts to the folds. And again cut off any excess paper along this line.
Step 4
Transfer the finished pattern to the fabric by placing the paper pattern directly on the fabric and cutting out all of its details on the fabric, adding 1 cm from each edge of the fabric to the seams. After that, connect all the parts with stitches, without touching the folds. Then sew all the edges of the joint on a typewriter and secure the folds, stitching along the line of the continuation of the seam that connects the parts of the shorts. Then insert the zipper by machine stitching from the wrong side and sew on the button.
