To make a dress that fits your figure perfectly, you need to have a good cut. You can build a base pattern with which you can create a wide variety of models yourself.
It is necessary
- - Whatman paper;
- - tape measure;
- - ruler;
- - pencil;
- - scissors.
Instructions
Step 1
To build a good pattern, the base of a dress of an adjacent silhouette, you will need to take and record measurements: half-girth of the neck, half-girth of the chest, half-girth of the waist, half-girth of the hips, back length to the waist, shoulder width, back armhole height, oblique shoulder height and product length. All values are recorded in centimeters.
Step 2
Build a back pattern.
On the Whatman paper on the left side, draw a right angle. Mark the top of the corner with point A. From this point, lay down: measure the height of the armhole at the back minus one centimeter (point D), measure the length of the back to the waist minus one centimeter (point T), measure the length of the product (point H). Set the height of the hip line down from point T (20 centimeters for all sizes). Mark point B. Through points G, T, B and H, draw horizontal lines. From point A, set aside 2.5 cm for all sizes (depth of the neck at the back). Mark point A1, and to the right of A, set aside a third of the measurement of the half-girth of the neck plus 5 mm (point A2). Connect points A1 and A2 with a smooth line.
To design the shoulder line, set aside the shoulder width measurement minus 5 mm to the right of point A (point A3). From A3, lower its perpendicular segment to the chest line (point G1). Draw an arc from point T, the radius of which is equal to the measurement - the shoulder height is oblique. Mark the point at the intersection with the segment A3G1 with the letter P. Connect points A3 and P.
To design the armhole, set aside to the right of point G the half-girth measurement of the chest divided by two minus one centimeter (point G2). In order to draw the line of the armhole, find a few more points. Set aside 0.15 of the segment G1P up from G1 (point P1). Further 0, 4 segments Г1П (point П2). Set aside 1, 2 cm from P2 to the left (point P3). Connect P1, P2 and P3 with a smooth line.
To design the side line of the back, set aside from point T to the right the half-girth measurement of the waist plus one centimeter (point T1) divided by two. Then to the right of point B, build the half-girth of the hips divided by two values minus one centimeter (point B1). Draw a perpendicular from point B1 down. The point of intersection with the bottom line, designate H1. Now draw out the side line. Connect points G2 and T1 with a straight line, points T1 and B1 - smooth, and points B1 and H1 - with a straight line.
Step 3
Build a front pattern.
On the same sheet, draw a vertical line on the right side. Draw points of intersection with horizontal lines. Call the top point B, the intersection with the chest line - point G3, with the waistline - T2, with the hip line - B2 and with the bottom line - H2.
Set aside to the left of point B the width of the measurement of the half-girth of the neck, adding 5 mm to it (point B1). Set aside from point B downwards 7 cm (depth of the neck in front for all sizes), designate point B2. Connect points B1 and B2 with a smooth line, shaping the neck of the front.
For the shoulder line, set aside to the left of point B a value equal to the segment AA3 (point P4). From this point, lower down the perpendicular segment equal to the segment A3P (point P5). Connect points B1 and P5.
For the armhole, set aside to the left of the G3 point the half-girth measurement of the chest divided by two minus one centimeter (designate the point as G5). Next, set aside from point G4 0, 07 of the segment G4P5 (point P6). Set aside from point G4 again 0.35 of the segment G4P5 (designate the point as P7). Set aside 2 cm to the right of this point and draw the line of the armhole, connecting points G5, P6, P7 and P5 with a smooth line.
Build the side line of the shelf in the same way as for the back.
Step 4
The dress pattern is ready. On it you can sew a variety of dresses from thin or dense knitwear, knitted fabrics or stretch fabrics.
