Slippers made of fur are not only very warm shoes, they are also incredibly comfortable and, naturally, beautiful. Sewing fur slippers with your own hands is not difficult at all, everyone who has at least minimal skills in the art of sewing can cope with this.

It is necessary

  • - thick paper (for patterns);
  • - a pen;
  • - cotton fabric;
  • - scissors;
  • - fur (you can take any, for example, sheep);
  • - a piece of thick drape;
  • - glue;
  • - thick threads;
  • - a needle (with a suitable eye);
  • - sewing machine;
  • - a piece of leather.

Instructions

Step 1

The first thing you need to do is make patterns. To do this, take thick paper, stand on it with both feet and carefully trace your feet. Add about a centimeter on each side and cut two pieces. Fold them together right side to each other and align (cut off the protrusions, make the blanks mirrored).

Step 2

Take a measuring tape and measure the height of your foot. To do this, stand on your feet, find the highest point of the foot and measure the height through it (the tape should go from the lateral inner side of the foot to the lateral outer side). Draw a semicircle on a piece of paper, to do this, first draw a straight line (its length should be equal to the height of the foot), then from the middle of this line draw a straight line perpendicular to this (its length should be equal to the length from the most protruding point of the foot to the tip of the big toe) … As a result, you should have details like in the picture.

Step 3

Further, according to these patterns, try to sew cotton slippers and try them on. If they sit well on their feet, then proceed to cutting out the details from the fur, but if the legs are not comfortable, then make adjustments to the patterns.

Step 4

Place drape and fur in front of you. Place two paper foot patterns on the drape, circle them and cut. On the fur (on its seamy side), put four paper patterns (two - patterns for the feet, two - patterns for the height of the feet), circle the details, then cut.

Step 5

Put the fur blank of the left foot (fur outside) on the drape blank of the left foot, glue these blanks. Do the same with the blanks from the right foot. Use a sewing machine to sew the edges with a zigzag stitch.

Step 6

After the sole of the slippers is ready, you can start sewing on the upper part of the slippers. To do this, lay the fur blanks on top of the soles (left - to the left, right - to the right), gently sweep these parts along the edges, and then sew everything with a zigzag stitch.

Step 7

Measure the length of the side seams of the slippers, cut two strips from the leather equal to this length and 2-2.5 centimeters wide. Press the side cuts of these strips inside out, then use these leather strips to wrap the soles of the slippers along the cuts. Fur slippers are ready.
