Step 1
The first thing you need is a pattern. Slippers should be created according to the principle of mirroring. Keep this in mind when working on a product. By themselves, the slippers should not be entirely flat, their soles should, as it were, bend inward. These are the features of the structure of the human foot. To make a pattern, first all the details are outlined, and then the felt must be bent in half. Secure it with needles or pins. Parts are cut along the contour, if necessary, there are seam allowances. Not all parts will need them, only the outsole and two tops. They are held together with a suitable seam, such as an overlock seam. First, the sole is sheathed with it, and then the upper part, also previously sewn in a similar way, is attached to it.
Step 2
It is not necessary to be limited to one technique. You can optionally use a seam over the edge, or a back needle. The first one is particularly suitable for fastening the upper and lower parts of slippers. The seam forward of the needle is more suitable for joining small parts.
Step 3
Now you need to fasten the parts. The pattern indicates how many of them should be. This is necessary so that our slippers look mirrored, that is, if one on the right has a flower of five elements and with an embroidered center - the same should be on the left, in the same place.
Step 4
One of the colors should be voluminous. We cut out the details, following the instructions for the pattern. We spread them one after another. First you need to lay a part with larger petals, then medium, then smaller. We sew them in the middle, making a seam in the form of a kind of cross, reminiscent of a star. It is necessary to do this from the inside of the hole of the part with petals, with the capture of the circle. That is, first the felt is pierced from the inside, with the capture of the part with petals closer to the edge. Then the seam is laid in the middle of the small circle and captures its edge opposite. Then the required distance is laid from the inside, and the second seam is made according to the same principle.
Step 5
The petals are sewn with a seam, which also has a decorative value. This is the back-needle technology. It is necessary to sew the sheet where the real sheet could have a streak. If you choose Chinese felt, it will not be as durable as European felt. But it works well for creating leaves and flowers.
Step 6
Any application looks decorative on the slipper. We have circles on the pattern. A decorative element is made of them, sewing closer to the bouquet. The same star stitch can be used, but it will be small. That is, several circles of different sizes are used. First, a large circle is applied to the product, followed by a small one, and a seam is made. This time there will be no inner circle, you just need to attach the circles, making a beautiful volumetric applique.
Step 7
The slippers are ready. They do not need to be ironed as with conventional material. You will immediately see that they are soft and cozy.
