Step 1
First you need to make patterns of the slippers you have conceived. These can be products with an open toe or closed, pick up slippers of the size and shape you need. You can use paper patterns downloaded from the Internet and printed on a printer for the top, and for the sole - draw around the foot with a pencil while standing on paper. It is also possible to use old slippers in whatever style you like. If you rip them apart, you get two patterns - the soles and the upper part of the slippers.
Step 2
Then decide on the material from which you want to sew indoor slippers. It can be any dense fabric: leather, suede, felt, wool, velor, fleece, etc. For the manufacture of elastic indoor, you need to stock up on two soles. It is also possible to make slippers with padding polyester insert.
Step 3
After you trace the patterns on the prepared fabric, cut the shapes out of the material. You should get 4 details - two tops and two bottoms. For the further process, you will need a needle - preferably thick, especially if the slippers are with a sole. Also, take a responsible approach to the choice of threads, they should not only match the color of the fabric, but also be durable.
Step 4
The process of sewing parts to each other should begin with the connection of the top and bottom. You can simply fold them, leaving a few millimeters away from the edge. You can make decorative holes around the perimeter with a diameter of up to 0.5 cm, and then crochet them or sew them with thick bright threads - this option is suitable for slippers that are made of leather or suede.
Step 5
If your goal was soft room slippers (such as those issued in hotels, for example), then you can do without a sole if the bottom was made of thick fabric. In other cases, it is recommended to make the sole of the slippers thicker. For example, make a pad of padding polyester, which you can then put on a piece of fabric made according to the pattern of the sole and sew to the sole of the slipper you have already made. If you purchased a base made, for example, of rubber, then it must be glued or carefully sewn to the bottom of the product.
