Nightshade can delight the eye with its berries all year round, and not only in winter, as some believe. In order for the plant to please with its flowers and fruits, it needs to create a certain thermal regime and watering.
Nightshade comes in many varieties. It blooms in summer and bears fruit closer to autumn. The berries last all winter. The color range of berries varies from green to bright red.
Lighting. In order for the plant to bear fruit, it must be provided with good lighting. A nightshade will fit a window from the east or southeast side. The plant does not like scorching sun rays - they leave burns on the leaves.
Temperature conditions. Nightshade is suitable for a habitat temperature of 18 to 26 degrees. In winter, in order to avoid the loss of fruits and leaves, the temperature must be reduced to 14 degrees. Also, the plant does not tolerate drafts. Optimal watering. During growth, the plant needs abundant watering. The rest of the time, watering should be moderate, as the soil dries up. Air humidity is a very important factor; it should not be lower than 60%. During the summer, nightshade must be sprayed to maintain moisture levels.
Reproduction methods. 1. Seeds. We take a pot of earth and put the nightshade seeds on top, and then sprinkle them with sand. Water and cover with foil. The pot must be placed in a warm place and after 3 weeks sprouts will appear, they can be planted in the ground. 2. Cuttings. You need to cut off the branches and plant them in the ground, as soon as the roots appear, they can be transplanted into a pot.
It is necessary to fertilize nightshade with mineral fertilizers in the spring. It is advisable to replant and prune the plant every year, it is best to do this in February.
