When to sow tomatoes for seedlings? The answer will depend on the conditions and in what way you plan to grow these seedlings: is there a greenhouse, or a greenhouse, or do you plan to farm on the balcony and windowsill in the kitchen. In any case, it is quite possible to grow excellent seedlings.
Tomatoes are very demanding on light and soil and require regular ventilation. Sowing them is best done in accordance with the lunar phases. Make nature your ally, and you don't need to put in the extra effort to get a great harvest.
Do not be alarmed by the confusion in the sowing calendars, of which a great many have recently been divorced. The general rule for sowing plants in accordance with the lunar sowing calendar is very simple, or rather, there are only three such rules:
1. Everything that grows and bears fruit upward is sown from new moon to full moon (on a growing moon).
2. Everything that grows and bears fruit downwards - from the full moon to the new moon.
3. In the new moon and days of lunar eclipses, sowing anything is contraindicated. Tested: Plants will grow stunted, and you will get insignificant harvest.
In March 2014, the favorable dates for sowing tomatoes - from 1 to 15, are especially good on March 6 and 11. In April, all days from 3 to 16 are great for sowing, the moon is especially favored by all living things on April 6 and 12.
Seedlings are planted in the beds 45-55 days after germination, otherwise it will suffer from a lack of space and nutrients and slow down its growth, which means that the harvest will ripen later than planned. Therefore, you should not sow tomatoes for seedlings in January and February, unless you intend to grow them in a greenhouse with additional heating and lighting. It is very time consuming. It will take several dressings, a garter and, of course, additional lighting.
