Classic berets periodically leave the fashion catwalks and return to them again. In the spring 2012 season, this elegant headpiece is one of the main current trends. A traditional round product can be made in different ways, one of the simplest of which is working on circular knitting needles. To quickly knit a beret, it is recommended to give preference to a knitted fabric with large loops.
It is necessary
- - circular needles No. 5 and 6;
- - thick yarn;
- - hook;
- - centimeter;
- - scissors.
Instructions
Step 1
Pick up a thick decorative yarn and master chunky knitting on circular knitting needles No. 5 and 6. This will speed up the knitting of the beret, while you will get an extremely relevant headdress - the visible texture of self-knitted knitwear does not lose its popularity.
Step 2
Perform the main part of the product with a simple front or back stitch - a more complex convex relief on thick knitting needles will look rather rough. The work will require special care, so try to make the canvas with loops of the same size.
Step 3
Measure the circumference of your head with a centimeter using the center line of your forehead. Tie an elastic band of the appropriate length, alternating purl 3 and knit 3 in succession. As a result, you will get a closed strip - the rim of the headdress.
Step 4
In order not to be mistaken in the size of the product, make a control fitting and only after that proceed to further work.
Step 5
Change to larger needles (# 5 to # 6). Now you should gradually expand the circular cloth to form the classic shape of the round bottom of the headdress.
Step 6
Begin to knit the beret with the front stitch, and in the first circular row after the elastic band, make uniform increases. To do this, divide the knitting into equal sections, and then knit one additional loop at the border of each segment.
Step 7
Insert a knitting needle under the cross thread between adjacent thread arms and pull in a new loop. In total, you must add 27-30 loops in this way. Depending on the required volume of the headdress, the number of additional loops can be increased or decreased at your discretion.
Step 8
Knit 38-40 rows of circular fabric, then begin to pull together the top of the product. Make gradual decreases. In one row, and then - after 4 circles, take 40 loops from work. Do this by knitting together the front pair of adjacent stitches in equal parts of the row.
Step 9
Make 4 circles without decreasing, then again remove two dozen loops in one row.
Step 10
Pull the remaining open loops of the garment tightly with a thread, cut off the yarn and leave a “tail” 8-10 cm long. Pull it with a crochet hook to the wrong side of the finished knitted beret. For better fixation, form a large knot at the end.
