Step 1
Freezing is one way to clean the inside of a sink. Place the clams in a plastic bag and place at the bottom of the refrigerator. After a few hours, place it in the freezer for 2-3 days. Then fill the bag halfway with cold water and put it back in the bottom of the refrigerator. Such manipulations are necessary to prevent cracking of smooth shiny shells. After thawing the water, after a day, remove the animal's body from the shell using a fork or wire.
Step 2
Boiling shellfish in salty or sweet water - allows you to quickly peel the shell. However, this procedure is not very pleasant, as the smell increases during cooking. The cooking time, depending on the size, ranges from 1 to 6 minutes. Shells with a shiny surface are placed in warm water, slowly brought to a boil and cooled. Gently remove the body with vigorous shaking. To remove small residues, direct a stream of water into the sink.
Step 3
You can bury the clams in dry sand, where they will rot. After a few weeks, they need to be dug up and washed. Or put the shell in the nest. Insects will eat the remains of the shellfish. Small and fragile shells should not be boiled. It is better to keep them in water for 2-3 days and clean them under a weak stream of water.
Step 4
Many people recommend placing dead shellfish in a 50% bleach solution, which not only promotes the decomposition of the animal's body, but also removes some organic growths on the shell.
Step 5
You can also use a stiff brush and soap to remove build-ups. Some types of growths are quite stubborn and can only be removed in special institutions using ultrasound.
Step 6
Fill the cleaned and dried shell with cotton wool and glue the lid, if any. To add shine and color to the sink, apply baby cream or oil to it.
