Lantana is called the chameleon flower. It gradually changes the color of the inflorescences, while the individual flowers of which they are composed change their shade depending on the degree of ripeness.
It is necessary
- - water at room temperature;
- - complex fertilizer for flowering plants;
- - universal soil;
- - vermiculite;
- - drainage;
- - flower pot.
Instructions
Step 1
Lantana is a very thermophilic plant, so it feels great in winter on a warm sunny windowsill. In summer, the plant can be taken out to the balcony or garden.
Step 2
The flower is photophilous. In order for lantana to delight you with lush flowering, bloom for a long time and abundantly, put it in a place where there is enough sunlight in the morning and afternoon hours. These should be windows facing the south side, otherwise lantana will bloom poorly, and in some cases you may not wait at all to bloom. But from the burning direct sunlight, the plant needs to be shaded.
Step 3
Water lantana quite often during the summer. This should be done after the top layer of the substrate in the pot has dried. In winter, watering should be reduced. The plant does not need to be sprayed, because when it gets on the leaves from the drops, ugly burns are formed.
Step 4
Lantana responds very well to fertilizing, which follows once every 10 days during the period of active growth and flowering. As a top dressing, use a complex fertilizer for flowering indoor plants. Dosage - 2 times less than indicated in the instructions on the package, if the plant is overfed, it will increase the green mass to the detriment of flowering.
Step 5
Lantana needs an annual transplant. Do it in the spring. Pour drainage on the bottom of the pot, then a layer of universal soil, into which a couple of tablespoons of vermiculite can be added for greater breathability. Remove lantana from the old substrate, shake it off the roots and rinse under running water. Make a depression in the soil and place a plant in it, straighten the roots and cover with soil. Water carefully and place in a sunny place, but shade the plant in the first days after transplanting.
