New Year's toys that were used to decorate Christmas trees in childhood are remembered with special warmth. Made by grandparents and carefully preserved, they created a family holiday atmosphere. You can remember traditions and create new family heirlooms even now by making toys for the Christmas tree with your own hands.

It is necessary

  • - Cones;
  • - wire;
  • - beads;
  • - paint;
  • - glue;
  • - threads;
  • - a needle;
  • - paper;
  • - sculptural plasticine.

Instructions

Step 1

Use natural materials that will look organic on the tree. Collect pine cones from the forest. Clean them from dirt and dry. String beads of the same color on a thin wire, in harmony with the rest of the toys on the festive tree. Wrap the beaded thread around the bump, snagging the tabs to create a shiny spider web. Wind the wire in rows from bottom to top and make a small loop at the top of the head. Thread it with a thread and hang the toy on the spruce.

Step 2

Decorate the buds with paint. Attach thread loops to them in advance. Then paint the item with acrylic paint. Use one color or create variegated buds. Such a coating does not require fixing with varnish. If you like a discreet decor style, stick to paint that imitates snow. It is sold in cylinders and can be called "artificial snow". Make a snow cap on each unpainted bud and let it dry for the time indicated on the package.

Step 3

Beaded thread can be used with other natural materials. String about 2-3 meters of beads onto the wire. Prepare some of these threads and go for a walk. Blind a snowball on the street and wrap it with thread. Try to make the mesh even, in the process, secure the wire in several places by wrapping it around the previous rows or tying it in a knot. Bring home the prepared snowballs - when they melt, you will have weightless balls made of beaded spiderweb in your hands, which will become an original decoration for the Christmas tree.

Step 4

A similar result can be obtained without leaving home and without buying beads. Choose a woolen thread of a suitable color (you can also use regular thread). Insert the end of the ball into a gypsy needle and pierce the jar of PVA glue with it. Wrap the balloon with greased thread. When the mesh seems to be tight enough, cut the thread and secure it. After 2 days, gently deflate the balloon and remove it from the decoration. Such a sphere of threads can be hung on a Christmas tree in its "original" form or supplemented with paper details: for example, cut and glue the ears and eyes of a bunny or the crest and beak of a parrot.

Step 5

The papier-mâché technique will allow you not to limit yourself in choosing the shape of the toy. Mold a figurine from sculptural plasticine that you would like to see on the Christmas tree. Cut the workpiece in half into two exactly the same pieces. Stick each of them with pieces of paper soaked in water and in PVA, leaving the unprocessed side of the joint of the parts. Alternate layers of paper with water and paper with glue, one at a time, until the total number reaches 7. After a few days (from 2 to 5), carefully remove the halves and join them, sticking thin strips of paper over the seam. Paint the finished toy with paints.
