A hand-made New Year card becomes an original and unusual gift, and not just a cardboard with a bright pattern, like store models. To make such a postcard, you will need a variety of materials.
How to make a New Year card simply
You need to decide in advance on the choice of materials and pictures for a future postcard. It can be made from cardboard, paper, fabric, beads, plasticine, lace and ribbons. A New Year's object for manufacturing can be the simplest - a snowman, a Christmas tree. These shapes are very easy to cut out of colored paper or brightly colored fabric.
When the idea of the postcard matures, you need to draw a sketch on cardboard, which in the future will become the basis of the gift card. The easiest option is to paint the image with glitter paints or stick colored paper along the contour you created.
Instead of colored paper, you can use more original materials, for example, fabric of various colors and textures. It is easily glued to cardboard with ordinary PVA glue. To make the image more beautiful, you can use beads, buttons and rhinestones.
The place for the congratulatory text can be highlighted with a frame, which must be cut out of cardboard or glued from lace in advance. If the card is drop-down, you can attach two satin ribbons to it for tying a bow.
How to make a more complex and interesting New Year card
Instead of a landscape postcard, you can try making a curly postcard. The desired shape is cut out of cardboard (herringbone, snowman, silhouette of the animal symbol of the year, etc.), the upper decorative part is cut out of the fabric to fit the size of the cardboard base and glued with the help of PVA. Now all that remains is to complete the composition with the help of other materials: add Christmas tree decorations-buttons, eyes-beads, etc.
You can use corrugated paper and decorate the card with the facing method. The paper is cut into 1 cm squares, which are wrapped around toothpicks broken by the same length. These tubes are glued to the image, depending on the picture, the direction of the toothpicks is also chosen (vertically, horizontally, diagonally, etc.).
Instead of cloth and paper, you can take various cereals or seeds. A wide variety in color and shape makes cereals and other plant elements an excellent material for creating images on a postcard. Rice may be required to create snow flakes, and Christmas tree needles can be recreated using shredded real pine needles. So that no dried glue can be seen between the grains or seeds, it is better to gently smear it with a brush on the cardboard and wait a little until the layer dries.
The finished image of cereals can be left like this or painted with acrylic paints, they adhere well to the surface and can even additionally fasten the grains to each other. Those who know how to knit or weave from beads can make an original final decorative element - a cover for a ready-made postcard that matches the style and theme.
