What amateurs do not grow in their garden plots and on the windowsills of apartments. As it turned out, even pineapple can be grown at home. To do this, you do not need to scour the shops in search of exotic seeds. It is enough just to buy a ripe fruit and eat it, and plant a new plant from the top intended for discarding, which will even bear fruit.

Step 1
To grow pineapple at home, you need to find a suitable fruit for these purposes. The pineapple must be ripe and free from frost. Better to buy summer fruits. Ripe pineapple smells good, its flesh is relatively pliable, the top may wiggle slightly. Here you will cut it off. You do not need to leave the pulp on top when cutting. Conversely, remove the bottom row of leaves so that you have a small stump.
Step 2
Hang the top with the hemp down in a dry place for 2-3 weeks. This time will be needed for the plant to heal the wound and transfer nutrients from the leaves to the place of germination of future roots.
Step 3
Fill the bottom of the pot with river pebbles or expanded clay, fill the pot with a soil substrate consisting of equal parts of peat, earth and river sand. Boil the water, add a couple of potassium permanganate crystals to it, and spill the potting soil well to disinfect it. This should be done a couple of days before planting the plant.
Step 4
Take the prepared seedling, stick it into the ground to the lower leaves, spray it on top with a spray bottle and cover with a jar or plastic bag. Place the pineapple in a bright, dark place, but try to avoid direct sunlight.
Step 5
After a month, the plant will get strong enough and release the first roots. It should be watered all this time rarely, but abundantly with very warm water. If you used a small pot to germinate the roots, it's time to transplant the pineapple into a larger vessel in which it will grow for the next 3-4 years.
Step 6
An adult plant needs a little feeding, after which it will bloom and begin to bear its first fruits. You can proudly treat your friends to home-grown pineapple, and if any of them don't believe you, tell them how easy it really is.
