All of you at least once in your life have seen and held in your hands a miracle of hand-made craftsmanship - a boat enclosed in a glass bottle. Not only children, but also adults are often interested in what the secret of the masters is, and how exactly the boat is placed in the bottle. This secret, used by most modelers, is very simple, and below you will learn how to make such an unusual souvenir with your own hands, surprising those around you with your own boats in bottles.
Instructions
Step 1
Start the work on creating such a souvenir by making a small, but beautiful and well-developed model of a boat. You will spend more time and effort on making a boat than putting it into a bottle, so give the boat maximum attention - cut its hull out of wood, weave tackle and rigging, cut out spars and masts. Paint the finished boat in suitable colors and varnish.
Step 2
The key point in the manufacture of the boat's hull is the matching of the hull to the size of the neck of the selected bottle, as well as the specific installation of the articulated masts. At the base of each mast, a small hinge must be installed, with the help of which the mast is laid parallel to the hull and goes inside the bottle along with the ship.
Step 3
For the simplest hinge, use a regular thin spring. When choosing a hinge for the mast, make sure that it is invisible on the ship's hull.
Step 4
Try to paint it in the color of the mast or hide it with some decorative element on the hull. Having made and finished the boat, attaching the sails to it, fold the masts and leave the long ends of the stays not cut off and not glued to the end.
Step 5
The ends of the stays need to be brought out of the boat so that when you place it in the bottle, they are outside the neck. Having strengthened the boat inside the bottle, pull the ends of the stays to raise the masts vertically.
Step 6
Cut off the excess thread and attach it to the neck with glue. In order for the boat to be firmly fixed inside the bottle, first glue a wooden support to the bottle from the inside, on which you will then fix the boat's body.
