A knitted top is a stylish addition to children's outfit that will be needed on cool summer evenings, on warm spring days, or to be worn indoors in winter. Such a product is recommended to be made of light yarn based on cotton or linen, you can also use viscose (for example, bamboo). In such clothes, the girl will not sweat, and the topic will not lie on the shelf of the closet.
Getting ready for knitting a topic
Calculate the required amount of working yarn, choose the appropriate pattern for the topic and be sure to make a small (about 10x10 cm) sample of the canvas. So you will adjust the size of the future product, check the density of your knitting with the pattern and you will not make mistakes in the process.
For example: for a girl with a height of 92 cm, you can take 100 g of yarn, which will contain 55% cotton and 45% artificial wool (polyacrylic). For work, you will need thin straight knitting needles No. 2, 5, as well as a pair of circular needles, one auxiliary knitting needle and a hook of the same diameter.
To emphasize the lace forms of the outfit and make the knitted openwork fabric airy, be sure to choose a thin enough thread.
Practice doing the basic pattern. A top for a girl (as opposed to a warm sleeveless jacket) should have a breathable, porous surface. The best option for knitted fabric is openwork, which can be combined with the front satin stitch (front loops are made from the “face” of the fabric, purl loops are made from the inside).
Execution of the pattern "Bulgarian cross"
One of the simplest openwork patterns for beginners is the so-called "Bulgarian cross". A mesh fabric is created on the basis of yarn overs and throwing loops to the left side of the work. For training, cast on straight knitting needles loops (their number should be divisible by 3), add a couple of hem.
In the first row of the knitted openwork pattern, perform the following alternations:
- 3 facial; throw the first loop to the left over the second and third thread bows; yarn;
- at the end of the row, do 3 facial; Throw the first loop to the left.
Tie the second row of openwork with purl loops and proceed to the third row:
- tie the front; yarn;
- alternate 3 front loops with a thread bow thrown to the left and a subsequent yarn;
- at the end of the row, do the front.
In the fourth row of openwork, make purl loops, and from the fifth, repeat the pattern following the pattern of the first and fourth rows.
We knit a top for a girl on knitting needles
Choose a pattern and start working according to the plan: in front of the topic, back and assembly of the product. For the front part of the cut, the typesetting row (height 92 cm) should consist of 52 loops. Knit the fabric with an openwork mesh until you reach the armholes. From this moment, start rounding in front symmetrically from opposite sides, until there are only 28 loops in the work (you will close 24 arms).
As a pattern for a topic, you can use a knitting pattern for any children's sleeveless jacket, only use an openwork pattern and light yarn.
Close the right and left:
- the first time 3 loops at once;
- the second time in a pair of loops;
- 7 times one thread loop at a time.
After forming the armholes, complete a couple more rows and set the open stitches on the auxiliary knitting needle. Perform the back part of the topic with the front satin stitch, adjusting the size of the canvas according to the finished front. After that, make a yoke: collect the deferred loops of the front cut piece on one knitting needle; dial 24 more thread bows; string the loops of the back of the topic; cast on 24 stitches again.
Tie the yoke with an openwork to the cut line, and after trying on the outfit, pull off the top of the product: do the front ones, every other time knitting together a pair of adjacent thread arches. Close the loops of the last row and crochet along one edge of the yoke for fastening loops. Each will consist of three to four (depending on the size of the fittings) air chain links and two single crochets.
Sew the sides of the topic. On the bottom of the garment, cast on 104 thread bows on the circular knitting needles and sew a row with purl loops. Next, arrange the edge of the product like this:
- knit a couple of adjacent loops together with the front one and make a yarn over; continue to the end of the circle;
- Knit 2 rows with front stitch;
- make increments evenly (30 loops in total);
- Knit 4 rows with front loops and again make 30 increases;
- purl a couple of finishing rows;
- close all loops.
You just have to sew buttons to the back of the topic and, if you wish, decorate the yoke in the front with beads.
