Step 1
Pay special attention to your choice of yarn. If you plan to wear a top in the summer on hot days, light cotton, rayon or bamboo will do. For cooler weather, you can pick up combined compounds: cotton and alpaca, bamboo and mohair, etc. Topic colors can be completely different, it all depends on your color preferences.
Step 2
There are many models of topics now. But "your" model is better to choose according to the figure. For overweight, a loose cut of the topic is more suitable, and thin ones will look great in tight-fitting models. For example, we will knit a 44 size topic with a length of about 60 cm.
Step 3
The main feature of the topic is the absence of sleeves, so the back will be the beginning of knitting. Take off your hip, waist and chest measurements. Next, knit a sample measuring 10x10 cm. How many loops will go in there, so much you need to dial to start knitting. For example, your measurements between the hips and the waist are 90 cm. This means that half of the canvas should be 45 cm. If 25 loops were included in the 10 cm sample, you need to dial about 110 loops.
Step 4
To make the bottom of the topic effective, you can use different types of yarn set - Italian, "double thread", with scallops, "open loops", etc. Next, knit with the chosen pattern or with the front satin stitch. At a height of 10 cm, subtractions can be made to fit. In every 4th row, subtract one stitch on each side. At a height of 30 cm, on the contrary, start adding in the same way. But you don't need to make such reductions if you want to make a loose-fitting topic.
Step 5
After 40 cm from the typesetting edge, it is necessary to make armholes of the sleeves. Close 5 loops on each side, and then in every second row close 3 loops first, then 2, and then 1.
Step 6
Particular attention should be paid to the neck of the topic, since it is wide and deep in most models. After about 45 cm from the beginning of knitting, close the middle 10 loops and knit each side separately. In each inner row, close 1 loop until the straps of the topic reach a width of 3-5 cm, and the height from the beginning of the armhole is 20 cm.
Step 7
Before knitting in the same way, but the neckline must be made a little higher, i.e. 50 cm from the typesetting edge. Try to make sure that at the height of the armholes of 20 cm, the straps of the future topic are the same size as the straps of the back. This can be achieved by closing 2 loops on the inside of the neckline.
Step 8
Another model of the topic, which knits a little easier: at a height of 45 cm from the typesetting edge, close all the loops. Next, knit 2 plaits or braids from the same yarn as the top. Sew them in place of the straps. Flagella can be made of other material: leather, suede, silk ribbons, etc.
