But why wring your hands if an evening dress can be made by yourself in a couple of hours - it will be not only elegant, but also unique. You are guaranteed not to find a similar dress at a party.

Step 1
To make a dress, take a rectangular piece of satin or any other flowing material. The width of the canvas can be standard, and the length is equal to your height from floor to shoulder. Roughly speaking, let's take 3 meters of fabric.
Step 2
Today you will create an elegant evening dress in the Greek style. Unfold the fabric, spread it on the floor, use a centimeter to find the middle of the fabric. Draw a cross line with chalk. Where it passes, there will be a line of shoulders of the future dress. With the same centimeter, find the middle of the drawn segment and through this point draw a line perpendicular to the first length of about 20 cm.
Step 3
Put the canvas over your head on your shoulders and decide on the depth of the future neckline. The most daring persons can even choose the option of a neckline to the waist, but we will focus on a neckline that reaches the level of the chest. Mark with chalk the size you need, remove the dress, use scissors to enlarge the cut for the head. Put the canvas back on yourself.
Step 4
Tie a ribbon made of the same material under your chest. The most crucial stage is coming. It is necessary to assemble the future dress into assemblies. Move the fabric falling over your arms towards your shoulders and begin to form folds, pinning them to the tape. Beautifully drape first one breast, then the other.
Step 5
When you are satisfied with the result, take a needle thread and sew the fabric to the ribbon. You don't need to make a particularly beautiful seam; you will put another tape on top. The back of the dress can be decorated in a similar way or you can choose any other type of drapery. If you have chosen a neckline to the waist, then for the drapery you will need 2 ribbons - one at the chest level and the second at the waist level. The back of the ribbons can be laid crosswise, in this case, the dress will even more resemble a Greek tunic.
Step 6
When the base of the dress is ready, take a second ribbon, its color can match the color of the dress, or it can contrast. Use neat stitches to sew the tape over the existing folds. Sew the side seams. Hem if necessary. The evening dress is ready. As you can see, there is nothing difficult in sewing it. Having started working right after lunch, by the evening you will already have an outfit in which you will not be ashamed to appear at the most fashionable reception.
