Summer is a great time for do-it-yourself new clothes. Moreover, it is very easy to do this even for novice needlewomen, because some models do not require patterns and are sewn within an hour.
It is necessary
- - light flowing fabric (chintz, cotton, thin jersey) - 1.5 m;
- - threads to match;
- - sewing scissors;
- - sewing machine.
Instructions
Step 1
To sew a free-style summer dress, the first thing you need to do is determine the length of the product: floor-length, medium-length or mini. The most advantageous for the proposed style is the maxi-length (1.5 m). For a summer outfit, the best option would be a brightly colored fabric with floral prints. Firstly, it will perfectly complement your rainbow summer mood, and secondly, inaccuracies in the fit and cut will not be noticeable. In addition, it should be borne in mind that the fabric for sewing must be well ironed in order for the product to be sewn correctly.
Step 2
Next, you need to cut the fabric. To do this, a piece of material should be folded in half with the front part inward and draw a quarter circle with a radius of 1.5 m with chalk or soap. After that, you need to cut the fabric along the marks, as well as along the fold line to get two equal parts. Also, remember to cut off the top edge of the pieces to form the neckline.
Step 3
The resulting details need to be sewn on the sides, leaving 27 cm at the top for the armholes. Next, iron the seams, then tuck each edge and sew again with a straight stitch. The hem of the dress also needs to be tucked up and stitched so that the material does not spill.
Step 4
In order to secure the dress on the shoulders, it is necessary to sew on a drawstring. This detail is a strip of fabric 5 cm wide and slightly longer than the neckline. There should be two such wings. One must be sewn on in the front, the other on the back, "face to face", tucking the edges of the fabric. In this case, you first need to lay the top line, then tuck and sew the side edges, and only then sew the bottom of the drawstring without sewing the sides.
Step 5
The future tie will be a strip of fabric 4 cm wide and 80 cm long. The material must be folded in half lengthwise and stitched, then turned out, processed the ends, ironed and put into the drawstring. You can attach the braid to the shoulder in the form of a bow.
Step 6
A ready-made summer dress can be worn both at the resort and in the city. During the day, such an outfit will look great with wedge shoes with imitation wood and large wooden earrings. On the seashore, the set will be perfectly complemented by a straw hat with wide brim. If the dress is pulled at the waist with a wide belt and shoes with heels, an original and bright outfit is ready for an evening out.
