Step 1

Step 2
For a weekend getaway, sew a simple satin dress in a bold color. Purchase 2 yards of colored fabric and inspect the edges carefully. Cut off the protruding threads with scissors, try to do this carefully, as this material is easily damaged. Fold the fabric in half, right side in, and place on a work surface. The result should be a piece 75-80 cm wide and 1 meter long.
Step 3
Take white chalk, outline the neckline, for example, round or with a boat, 20 cm wide. Using sharp scissors, cut the neckline along the markings, and then fasten both halves with sewing pins to secure.
Step 4
Measure the width of the shoulders, it must be measured on the fabric, for strength at the junction of the shoulder and the future armhole for the sleeve, secure with pins. Step back 40-45 cm from the neck down, draw a strip on the fabric, and then perpendicularly outline a length equal to half the waist + 5 cm on the sides, you will get an inverted letter "t". Step 5
Mark the width of the hips with chalk on the fabric, so you can later choose the desired width for the lower part of the dress. For example, you have chosen a free-cut product, then measure the width along the entire canvas equal to half the circumference of the hips. Cut the fabric along the lines, excluding the aforementioned "t" strip. This will be the basis of the future dress.
Step 6
Fold in the edges of the fabric 0.5 cm and overcast with an overlock or hand blind stitch. Use a sewing machine to sew the edges. It is important to note that a dress of this cut can also be sewn by hand. In this case, it is necessary to purchase threads for the material used in a specialized store.
Step 7
Sew the neckline, sew a 1 cm wide strip of cotton from the inside. Do the same with the armholes for the sleeves. Sew the dress along the side lines and tuck the hem. You can insert a zipper into one of the side seams, and leave a slit at the bottom of the dress.

Fold the fabric right side in, measure the length of the dress to the ankles and mark with chalk. Step 5-7 cm down from the top of the fabric, draw a line about 25 cm wide with chalk, cut a neat semicircle with scissors. Secure with pins, gently turn the fabric over and from the back from top to bottom outline the pattern in the form of a parabola or English "U", about 40 cm long and equal to the measurement from one armpit to another. Secure with pins and, stepping back about 1 cm from them, carefully cut out the middle part of the fabric. As a result, on one side of the material, you will get a cutout for the neckline, and on the other, an open part for the future dress in the back.
Step 13
Connect the model of the dress along the side seams with needles, cut off the excess pieces of fabric along the markings. Blind seam along the edges of the fabric. Add a zipper length from the armpit to the thigh, this mark should be done in advance. Then sew on the clasp with a sewing machine, sew the edges of the neckline and cutout on the back. By the way, the zipper can be made at the back, in the area of the middle of the cutout to the thigh, in this case the fastener will be small.
Step 14
Take an elastic band that is sold in specialty stores, you will need a length equal to half the circumference of the chest. From the pieces that formed earlier, sew two long strips about 3 cm wide, turn out the resulting part and push the elastic inside, then sew the strip along the sides. Mark a point on the dress, which is at the level of the scapular cavity, in this place, attach the resulting detail to the dress in the area of the back cut, sew along the edges. This will serve as a secure hold while wearing.
Step 15
In the area of the shoulder and armpit, the armhole needs to be stitched with a double seam, you can attach a strip of fabric of a different shade.
