A well-known technique of burning out an openwork pattern using a burning apparatus, called guilloche. When performing work in this technique, it is convenient to use commercially available burners, for example, "Dymok", "Vyaz", "Pattern". But for this, such devices need to be slightly modified and altered.
It is necessary
A standard device for burning, for example, "Pattern-1"
Instructions
Step 1
Understand the circuitry of an electrical burner. As a rule, it consists of a step-down transformer that reduces the voltage in the secondary winding to 1.5-3 V. The reduced voltage goes to a rheostat that regulates the current strength. The current through the rheostat goes to the instrument's needle, which is attached to the handle, which acts as a pencil.
Step 2
With such a scheme, it is convenient to burn on wood, since this usually requires a high heating of the needle. For processing very dense fabrics (flock, dense finlen, crimplen), this scheme is also suitable. But for thinner and delicate fabrics, the heating of the needle turns out to be excessively high and leads to melting of the treated areas of the fabric. With nylon, for example, it is simply impossible to work with a conventional burner. Therefore, proceed to modify the schematic diagram of the burner device.
Step 3
Solder an additional resistance with a nominal value of about 1.5 kOhm and a dissipation power of 2 watts into the device circuit. This is required because a significant current flows in the secondary winding of the transformer. You can do without modifying the device, but for this you will have to regulate the heating of the needle using a special device called a voltage regulator.
Step 4
Modify the burner needle as well. Usually only a thick burning needle is included with the device. Make a thinner needle from nichrome wire with a cross section of 0.5-1 mm and sharpen the end of the needle. The needle can be twisted. To do this, take a regular sewing needle # 3 or # 4, gently break off its eyelet. Insert the broken end of the needle into the machine. Having retreated from the tip of the needle by about 4-5 mm, wrap it with nichrome wire for a third of the length. When processing the material with a twisted needle, expressive round dots are formed.
