Instructions
Step 1
To knit a hat for your husband, cast on 98 loops on the needles, 2 of which, 1 on each edge, will be hem. We will knit the product with a 3X3 elastic band (we alternate 3 front loops, 3 purl loops) until the fabric reaches 13 cm in height.
Step 2
After that, start decreasing the loops so that the hat sits exactly on the head. To make the decrease symmetrical, mark every twelfth stitch in the last knitted row with colored thread, starting with the sixth (i.e. 6, 18, and so on). Now, through the row, knit each marked loop together with the adjacent previous one. There should be 10 such rows with decrements.
Step 3
After completing the described piece of knitting in the front row, knit 2 loops together. After that, 10 loops will remain on the knitting needles, which need to be pulled off by threading the end of the thread that was used for knitting into them. Leave this end of the thread long so that you can sew a connecting seam.
Step 4
To sew a connecting seam, pass the thread through a needle with a wide eye and carefully, aligning the edges of the fabric, sew the hat.
Step 5
The same hat can be knitted in the children's version. Select knitting needles and threads, before starting work, knit with a knit with which you plan to knit a hat, a test sample - 20 loops for 20 rows. Such a pattern will help you correctly calculate the knit density, or the number of loops per centimeter of fabric.
Step 6
To find out how many loops you need to knit, measure the child's head circumference in centimeters and multiply by the number of loops in one centimeter of the fabric. The height of the canvas without subtraction for the child will be equal to the distance from the child's eyebrow line to the crown of the head minus 7-8 cm. The distance of 7-8 cm will fall on the subtraction.
Step 7
Hats made with an English elastic band look good. For such a hat, prepare 200 g of woolen yarn of medium thickness and circular needles No. 2, 5. Before starting work, knit a sample that will allow you to more accurately calculate the loops. Cast on the knitting needles on which you will knit the product, 20 loops and knit 10-20 rows with hosiery. Then attach a ruler to the resulting product and count the number of loops in one centimeter.
Step 8
Then measure the circumference of the head of the person who will be knitting the hat, and the distance from the middle of the forehead to the crown of the head.
Step 9
Cast on the required number of loops (for this, multiply the head circumference in centimeters by the number of loops that fit in one centimeter on the sample) by circular knitting needles.
Step 10
Work 6-8 cm with English elastic. The English elastic is knitted in the following way.
First row: knit 1 front, 1 yarn, remove 1 loop without knitting. The thread should be behind the loop.
Second row: make 1 yarn, remove 1 loop without knitting, knit the removed loop and knit the yarn of the previous row together with the front one.
3 row - knit the removed loop and yarn of the previous row together with the front one, then make 1 yarn, remove 1 loop.
Alternate between the second and third rows.
Step 11
Determine the front and back sides. Knit one row with front loops, knitting together the lowered loop and yarn of the last row and yarn and without making yarns in the new row. On the seamy side, there should be a seamy row - this is the fold line of the lapel.
Step 12
Start again with the English elastic and knit a cloth equal in length to the distance from the middle of the forehead to the crown of the head. On the front side, knit a row of front loops, knitting the yarn over and the removed loop from the previous row together with the front one, the front side - according to the pattern, do not do the yarn over again.
Turn the work over and knit a row with purl, without subtracting the loops.
Step 13
Turn the work over again and decrease the loops according to the scheme: 1 front, 2 together front. Purl the next row.
Step 14
Break off the thread, thread it into a thick needle. Pull the thread through the loops, starting with the first one, tighten and secure to the wrong side of the loop.
Sew a hat. Fold up the lapel.
Step 15
This simple baby beanie model is perfect for both boys and girls. For a boy, the hat does not need finishing; for a girl, decorate with knitted flowers or beads. Step 17
When using knitting needles No. 3 and yarn of the appropriate thickness, the knitting density is as follows. In the canvas 10 cm by 10 cm, 21 loops and 27 rows. Hence the calculation of the loops.
Step 18
Cast on 65 stitches. Knit 6 rows with a 1x1 elastic band, alternating one front one with a purl (from the seamy side, where the front was, the purl loop is knitted, where the purl was in the first row is the front). Then knit 43 rows with front stitch. To do this, knit all loops on the front side with the front ones, on the seamy side - all with the wrong ones. At the same time, do not forget, in each row, remove, without knitting, the first loop, edge.
Step 19
Close the hinges. This is done like this: knit two loops into one and pull the loop from the right knitting needle to the left one. This should be continued until all loops are over. Pull the working thread into the last loop and finish the work. The "tail" can be left longer. Thread this thread through a needle, fold the workpiece in half and sew the side and top seams. The hat is ready.
