You can't do without warm mittens in winter. And since truly exclusive things can only be done with your own hands, it's time to knit cute mittens as a gift for yourself and your loved ones. Moreover, they are easy to knit on two knitting needles.

It is necessary

  • - 100 g of yarn;
  • - knitting needles;
  • - some yarn in a contrasting color;
  • - a needle with a large eye.

Instructions

Step 1

To calculate the number of loops required to knit mittens, measure the circumference of your palm at the widest part and divide the resulting measurement by two.

Step 2

Next, tie a control piece and calculate the knitting density. This small rectangle, knitted from those threads and those knitting needles with which you will later knit the product, will help to avoid many mistakes. You will be able to calculate the required number of loops.

Step 3

For example, for a sample you typed 30 loops, its width turned out to be 15 cm, therefore, the knitting density in this case is 30: 15 = 2 loops in one centimeter.

Step 4

So, you know the size of the half-grip of the palm and the number of loops in one centimeter. By multiplying these values, you will get the required number of loops for the typesetting row.

Step 5

First, tie the parts of the palms. Tie 3-4 cm with garter stitch or 1x1 elastic. then go to stocking knitting (in the front rows, knit all the loops with the front loops, and in the purl rows - with the purl loops). Knit in this way for about five centimeters (to the beginning of the thumb).

Step 6

Then divide all the loops into three parts (on one third you will knit your thumb). For the right mittens on the front side, and for the left mittens along the seamy side, knit two loops up to the finger (remove the edge). Then finger loops (1/3 of all loops). Remove the rest of the hinges with a pin.

Step 7

Then knit only the loops of the thumb straight to the nail, and then make decreases, knitting two loops on each side of the canvas. When the last two stitches remain on the needles, knit the finger in reverse order. To do this, at the beginning and end of the row, add one loop at a time until the initial number of loops is obtained. Now knit a half equal to the first straight.

Step 8

Put the loops, removed on the pin, on the knitting needles and continue to knit the piece of the palm to the end of the little finger nail. Now knit, knitting two stitches at the beginning and end of the row. Finish the remaining 5 stitches as usual.

Step 9

For upper knitting, cast on the same number of stitches as for the palm. Work 3 to 4 cm in garter stitch or 1x1 elastic. Then knit with stocking in the same way as the part of the palm, only without knitting your finger.

Step 10

Iron the finished parts of the mittens through a damp iron. Decorate the upper parts with embroidery or beads. Sew the right side with a seam over the edge with thick yarn in a contrasting color.
