In the world of knitting, there is such a variety of different patterns that allow you to create unique things. In most cases, their design is performed only with well-known rubber bands. However, in fact, there are a lot of types of finishes, especially unusual ones, for example, Bulgarian or French. It is they who can decorate the product with their novelty and originality.

It is necessary

  • - yarn;
  • - knitting needles.

Instructions

Step 1

Before proceeding with the "snake" elastic, be sure to complete the sample, as this work requires some skills. Knitting it is very inconvenient, and therefore practice does not hurt. For traditional French elastic, you need to dial the number of loops on the basis that the front groove is 2 loops and the gap between them is also 2 loops. Therefore, the total number of loops should be divided by 4 + 2 edging loops.

Step 2

Cast on 22 stitches for the sample. Remove the first (edging), then 1 purl, then repeat the rapport: * 2 front loops, 2 purl loops *. By the end of row 2, the last loops should be purl. Knit the reverse side according to the figure. In the 1-2 row, the execution of the elastic has not yet begun, and the front and back loops are necessary to designate the future "snakes". Do this only on a sample to facilitate the correct perception of the diagram. On the main product, complete the drawing immediately.

Step 3

Each subsequent odd (front) row knit according to the scheme: 1 edge loop, 1 purl * 2 front crossed loops, 2 purl loops *. To complete the crossed loops, first knit the second front loop, and after it, without throwing off the used loop from the knitting needle, knit the first one. You can do it much easier. To do this, just swap 2 front loops (the first loop is located above the second), then knit them sequentially with the front ones.

Step 4

Even rows (purl) knit according to the scheme: 1 edge loop, 1 front loop * 2 purl crossed loops, 2 front loops (according to the picture) *. To sew crossed loops, knit the second purl first, and then the first. Or just swap them on the needles in places (the second loop is located above the first), and then sequentially knit with the purl.

Step 5

When choosing a model, be sure to take into account the fact that the French elastic cannot be knitted on circular knitting needles, thus, it is one-sided. But you can adjust the number of "snakes", that is, for example, perform them not every 2 purl loops, but after 3 or more loops.
