Knitters call a Norwegian elastic band a lush fabric, which is performed with alternating two loops - front and back. It differs from both conventional elastic bands and patent ones with crochets. The work involves the loops of the lower row ("knitting under the loop"), the pattern is voluminous and elastic. Practice this craft on a simple model such as a long scarf. Then you can knit a more complicated product with a Norwegian elastic band.

Instructions
Step 1
Tie a stitch pattern. The pattern will be based on a 1x1 elastic band, so the main number of loops on the working needle should be a multiple of two; for symmetry, add 1 more loop; do not forget also about a couple of edging. For example, 10 + 1 + 2 = 13 stitches.
Step 2
Sew 1 row with knit stitches and 1 row with regular elastic, alternating purl and knit loops in succession.
Step 3
Knit the third row of Norwegian elastic in the following sequence: remove the edging; To sew a knit buttonhole, insert the right knitting needle into the bow of the row below. The subsequent purl is tied as usual; the row is completed by an edge loop.
Step 4
Turn the work over and knit according to the pattern. Now, when working on the purl stitches, you will need to knit both thread bows together - knitted in the previous row and the remaining one untied.
Step 5
Tie a piece of Norwegian elastic by repeating steps # 3 and 4. Make the last row with knit stitches alone. Close the loops, while knitting 2 of them together with the front one, then another pair - together with the purl, etc.
Step 6
Wash the pattern control in warm water, flatten it gently on a horizontal surface and dry. This way you can make a more accurate calculation of the loops for the future product, since the elastic will stretch a little against moisture. Do not iron the linen or hang it on a clothesline so that it does not lose volume or deform.
Step 7
Estimate the knitting density and check the width of the scarf. To prevent the product from pulling along the edge, it is recommended to cast on loops from a double working thread. From it, perform the first row with the front stitch.
Step 8
Make the desired number of stitch rows. When you reach the required length of the scarf, close the loops with double thread (see step # 5 - end of the row).
