Break Dance is divided not only into upper and lower breaks, but also into many sub-styles. And the most interesting, beautiful and dynamic is just such a dance, where movements and elements of all sub-styles are mixed. B-boys (break dancers) are constantly experimenting with different techniques, looking for their own unique style. But they start learning how to break from three directions: the upper and lower breaks, as well as the elements of power tricks. Learning to break dance requires from a beginner b-boy not only patience and good physical fitness, but also courage.
Instructions
Step 1
It is best to start learning to break with physical education. First of all, you need to strengthen the muscles of the abdominals and arms. And also to train flexibility by bending in different directions, including back (try to reach your heels with your hands, at first this can be done alternately, the bridge is also a good flexibility exercise). After the muscles have strengthened, you can proceed to performing a handstand and headstand, first with support on the wall, gradually moving further and further away from it. A good help for training balance will also serve as push-ups on the hands from the rack.
Step 2
Hand in Work or "Wave with hands". Stretch your arms out in front of you, palms facing down. Make the brushes move as if you want to slip them under some horizontal object, while only the brush works. When the brushes are perfect, add a shoulder wave. Move one hand forward, then return back, then do the same with the other hand, two at the same time. Then we add the elbows, while the brushes must be turned towards each other. Change the speed of the wave.
Spread your arms to the sides and fix at shoulder level parallel to the floor, palms facing down. Keep on wave, watch your hands. First, the waves diverge in different directions, then try to create one wave with both hands, then start the wave with one hand and, passing through yourself, finish with the other. And in the opposite direction.
Wave through a body or "Wave through the body." This element requires a lot of concentration. In this case, the wave is launched from top to bottom and bottom to top. In the first case, the wave starts from the head. Imagine that there is an obstacle at the level of your eyes, for example, a stick. In order to overcome it, you do not squat, but simply, as it were, "dive" with your head under it, then the neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis and knees with feet are sequentially arched. After one part of the body has arched and the next has come, the first one comes back. The wave should not be interrupted, and the movement should be soft and smooth.
The wave from below is launched in the same way, only in reverse order from the feet to the head. Then drive the wave in one direction and the other without stopping.
Moon Walking or "Moonwalk". In order to learn the famous Michael Jackson gait, you need comfortable and soft shoes in which the foot can move. It can be sneakers, but with a thin sole. Learn to move your legs smoothly and plastically. Next, place your right foot on the heel slightly forward, and the left foot on the toe. Further, the right leg smoothly runs along the left and stands on the heel, while the left one is slightly brought forward and stands on the heel. Further, the left leg moves in the same way as with the right. Try not to pause between leg movements, and to achieve greater effect, over time, you can start to release a wave with your hands.
Step 3
Dance or "Moving on the dance floor". There are several types of movement. Single, there is only one dancer on the dance floor, that is, you. In this case, you yourself set the rhythm and sequence of elements, do not be afraid to experiment. In this case, movement along an imaginary square looks most impressive, i.e. in a limited area, not all over the dance floor.
Doubles, when two dancers move on the dance floor at once. In this case, it is necessary to work out a certain combination of elements in advance and perform them either simultaneously or in turn, as if talking with a partner in a dance.
Team - there are more than two people on the stage. Usually all dancers perform the same elements in the same rhythm. The team is positioned so that partners do not hurt each other in the dance, and also do not block neighbors. Usually the dancers are staggered.
Step 4
The bottom break is divided into four directions. Uprock and toprock (not quite a bottom break, but close to that), Spining moves or power moves (strength elements), Freeze (fixation of the body when performing a certain element), Footwork (movements with legs).
Step 5
Wave - Little used by professional dancers, but a great start for beginners. Lying on the floor, set off a wave: first the hands touch the dance floor, then the chest, then the legs. In the dance, the dancer immediately falls into his arms.
Hands and feet - performed from a standing position. Stand on your feet, then jump, landing on your hands (feet in the air), pushing your arms and legs back and landing on your feet again. It is better to perform this element several times.
Stilts - the starting position is standing on your hands. Legs in the air, with one in front and the other behind. Jump on your hands and at the same time change the position of your legs, i.e. the leg that was in front goes back, and the one that was behind is now in front.
Backspin or "Spin on the back". It all depends on the swing of the legs. The starting position is sitting on the floor, the left leg is extended forward, the right leg is bent at the knee. Then sharply straighten your right leg, throwing it to the left as far as possible, i.e. legs crossed. Bring your left leg under the right as well. If done correctly, you should develop enough speed to spin on your back. For more speed, pull your legs up to your chest and cross over. It is important to spin on your shoulder blades. Moving up to the top of the shoulder blades can increase the speed. Bouncing while spinning also looks spectacular.
Tumbler - starting position standing on your feet. You fall on your back and do a somersault, rise up on your hands.
Spring - any starting position. From a standing position, you fall on your back without using your hands and jump to your feet. From a standing position, you simply jump to your feet without using your hands.
Turtle or "Turtle" - Running on hands in a circle. Quite a complex power element of the lower break, it is performed only if the dancer is in good physical shape. Rest your elbows on your abs and stand on your hands. Try to stand on one hand, with the other helping to maintain balance only a little. After you can confidently stand on each of the hands without supporting yourself with the other, begin to move in a circle. With good speed, it is easier to do the troll. Professional b-boys not only spin on their axis, but also run in different directions.
Cricket or "cricket" - jumping tuttle. Stand on one hand and help yourself bounce with the other. The speed depends on how close the free hand is to the body. Hands should touch the ground alternately.
Gliding on the head - performed in a special hat, inside of which a soft lining is sewn, and any slippery durable material is sewn on the outside. Or you can spin around in a helmet. And in no case can you do this without her. Take a run, jump on your head and slide by inertia, it is important to remove your hands during the time. Option 2: stand on your head with your feet parallel to the ground. Pushing with your hands, you go forward.
Headspin - spinning on the head. To begin with, learn to just stand on your head, without using your hands and without falling in any direction. Then push off slightly with your hands and pull the body in the direction of the twist. In this case, the hands must be held so that they do not interfere with the twisting. Gradually increase the repulsion force. During twisting, the legs can be in three positions: transverse split, while the legs are slightly bent at the knees; bent at the knees and lowered to the face and legs together extended perpendicular to the ground.
