Tango is an amazing dance. He attracts with his passion, openness of feelings, close contact with a partner. But its execution requires a clear practice of complex movements. Some of them can be learned at home.
Instructions
Step 1
Before starting to practice the tango movements, choose appropriate music with a slow and steady rhythm. It can be not only Argentine tango, but also melodies such as slow foxtrot, rumba or even symphonic music.
Step 2
Learn to count four beats. In this case, unpaired counts ONCE and THREE should mark the strong beats of the music and follow about a second apart.
Step 3
Put on the music, relax, and close your eyes. When counting beats, start moving in place for each major beat. After feeling the natural movement of your body in this rhythm, open your eyes and walk around the perimeter of the room, taking a step at each major beat of the music. Memorize this rhythm in a few minutes. It will be the main rhythm of tango.
Step 4
Now walk counterclockwise around the room. This is called the "line of dance". Learning to move in the opposite direction will prevent collisions with other couples. Try moving around a table or chair, cross the center of the room, and then return to the starting line. Do it all smoothly and naturally.
Step 5
Now learn the basic steps of tango. To do this, first walk around the room without music. Be sure to start the step from the front of the foot. Imagine yourself as a predatory panther sneaking through the jungle. This look will help make your body more flexible, movements will become smooth and elegant.
Step 6
Then follow the same line backward. Turn your head to the side so that you can always see where you are going. Usually, women always look to the right and men to the left. Straighten your leg a little more than usual when walking. Move your body back a little further too - at first it will seem unnatural to you, but over time you will get used to it. This will avoid knee collisions with your partner.
Step 7
Always keep your weight above the front of your foot, whether you are walking backward or forward. To develop your toe muscles, try walking on your toes. This will help develop the habit of dancing with the body forward. But do not get carried away too much, because tiptoeing will tire your feet too much, it is better to immediately use high-heeled shoes.
Step 8
Try dancing with a partner (real or imagined) with your arms correctly positioned. Lower your left arm on top of your partner's arm over his bicep. Extend your other hand to the side, as is done in all ballroom dancing.
Step 9
Turn on the music and slowly move to its rhythm. Don't strain too hard. Try to have fun with the movement - it will help you learn to dance tango faster.
