Step 1
Determine which outfit will complement your bolero. Bolero sleeves can be as short, three-quarters and long. If this is a wedding dress with a deep neckline, then you cannot do without a satin bolero if it is a warm season, and in winter without a fur bolero blouse. This can be done in accordance with the bride's outfit, color and style of the dress and other accessories.
Step 2
Find a pattern for any adjacent jacket, it can be found in any sewing magazine. Choose a pattern for your size. To check this, measure the volume of the chest and check it against the pattern data. If the data is the same, go to the next step.
Step 3
Transfer the pattern to the paper. Choose the length of the future bolero, make the shelves and the back of the pattern shorter. Make the shelves about 10 cm narrower and round from the side line to the neckline. In order to build a sleeve pattern, you should determine the length of the arm. The length of the sleeve can be varied according to your wishes.
Step 4
Cut out your bolero pattern and place it on the fabric. Determine how the transverse and lobar threads are positioned.. Trace the patterns with a chalk or special marker for tailors and attach the patterns with needles. When cutting fabric parts, do not forget to leave two centimeters of seam allowance along the edge of the back, sleeves and bottom of the shelves, and one centimeter in other places.
Step 5
Remove the paper patterns from the fabric. Place the back and shelf sections right-side up and sweep the shoulder seams and side seams. Now you need to try on. If the product fits well on the model, you did everything right. You can sew the sleeves and sew them into the armholes. Fold the edge of the sleeves and the bottom of the bolero half a centimeter twice and sew on a typewriter.
Step 6
Measure your bolero. If you wish, you can decorate the blouse with beads, rhinestones or lace. If it's a dressy bolero, you can make the sleeves with flounces or ruffles to add lightness to the outfit.
