In knitting, there are many different stitches that serve different purposes, and one common type is crossed knit stitches that come together in a crisscross pattern. Such loops can be used in knitting socks, mittens, gloves and other products, the fabric of which must be dense, durable and low-stretch. The peculiarity of crossed loops is that the loops of the canvas turn out to be inclined to one side, and for this reason the canvas can be skewed.
Instructions
Step 1
To knit crossed stitches on the front of the fabric from left to right, insert the tip of the right knitting needle into the second loop of the left knitting needle from the back, pulling the knitting needle past the first loop.
Step 2
Knit the second loop to the right side. Also knit the first loop to the front side and then loosen both loops, removing them from the left knitting needle to the right.
Step 3
You can also knit crossed loops on the wrong side of the canvas, also directed from left to right. In this case, transfer the first two loops from the left knitting needle to the right one without knitting them.
Step 4
Cross these two loops so that the second passes in front of the first, then pick up the loops with the left knitting needle and knit to the wrong side of the fabric.
Step 5
Loops can be crossed not only from left to right, but also from right to left. To make this tilt on the front side of the fabric, insert the end of the right knitting needle into the second loop of the left knitting needle, from the front wall.
Step 6
Then pass the end of the knitting needle in front of the first stitch and knit the second stitch to the right side. Knit the first stitch to the right side. Unfasten both stitches and remove from the left knitting needle to the right knitting needle.
Step 7
In order to knit a fabric of crossed loops from right to left on the wrong side of the fabric, insert the tip of the right knitting needle into the second loop on the left knitting needle, pass it in front of the first loop, then knit the second loop on the wrong side and knit the first loop on the wrong side. Remove both stitches on the right needle from the left needle.
