Rigid lambrequins of complex shapes, no doubt, look chic and solemn. But sometimes you want something lighter and more fun. Sew a lambrequin-puff. It is perfect for creating an atmosphere of cozy intimacy. Graceful flirty puffs will look great in the bedroom or in the nursery, especially in the girl's room. It is sewn very simply and requires a small amount of fabric.
It is necessary
- - main fabric:
- - mounting tape 6 cm and 4 cm wide, with a build factor of 2, 5 or 3;
- - threads to match,
- - filler (synthetic fluff, tissue paper, organza trimmings).
Instructions
Step 1
Cut out the lower part of the lambrequin 85-90 cm wide. The length is equal to the length of the cornice multiplied by the gathering factor, plus 4 cm for the hem of the side sections.
Step 2
Cut out the top piece of the appropriate length, fabric width 65-70 cm.
Step 3
Prepare two pieces of mounting tape of the appropriate length. The higher the assembly factor of the mounting tape, the more magnificent and playful the lambrequin will turn out.
Step 4
Work the short side cuts of the top and bottom, folding 2 cm on each side. Seam long cuts with a zigzag or overlock stitch.
Step 5
Fold the top and bottom right sides together. Sweep along a long cut. Bend the lower part back and up along the entire length, leaving 35-40 cm. Iron the fold.
Step 6
Stitch a narrow mounting tape through three layers of fabric from the inside of the entire structure, stitching the aligned cuts along the edges.
Step 7
Turn the narrow upper part outward and upward, leaving 20-25 cm. Align the upper cut with the upper cut of the lower part. Machine stitch and press down the seam allowances.
Step 8
Form a scallop 4-5 cm wide. To do this, move the sewn top cuts back. Stitch in a wide mounting tape from the inside out. The seam should go through two layers of fabric and the tape should cover the seams.
Step 9
Sew the short sides of the pocket by hand, leaving a hole for the filler.
Step 10
Pull the tape cords together, forming nice folds. Hang the lambrequin on hooks or Velcro straps. Place the filler inside the pocket and sew the hole with blind stitches.
