It is necessary

  • - satin ribbon 5 cm wide;
  • - a needle;
  • - threads in the color of the ribbon;
  • - scissors.

Instructions

Step 1

For a twisted rose, you need a piece of tape of at least 70 cm. Trim the edges carefully. It is best to overcast or hem to create a very thin hem. Sometimes they are fired, but this must be done so that the ends of the threads do not turn black.

Step 2

Sew the tape along one of the edges with a needle-first seam. The stitches should be fine and straight. Do not break the thread.

Step 3

Fold the short edge, near which the needle is currently located, to the wrong side by 0.5 cm or even less. This will be the heart of the rose. Sew the fold with a couple of stitches to the raised hem.

Step 4

Begin twisting the ribbon in the same direction as the center petal. After 1-2 turns, fasten the layers and the swept edges together. Make the loops looser as you twist. After the last turn, wrap the short edge of the tape under the petal and secure. The rosette is ready.

Step 5

A twisted rose will look more interesting if, before starting to shape it, sweep several transverse lines and pull off the ribbon. First, as in the previous case, process the edges and overcast one of the edges. Then, 1 cm from the short edge, sew the first vertical seam with basting stitches. Place 3-4 more lines at the same distance from each other. Then increase the distance first to 2 cm, then to 3 cm. Slightly tighten the seams.

Step 6

Start twisting the tape from the end where the distances are smaller. Attach each layer with a couple of three stitches. At the end, fold the short edge under the tape.

Step 7

A large rose is best made from several pieces. For the central part, you will need a piece 50 cm long, for the inner layer of petals - 4 pieces of 20 cm each, for the middle layer - 4 pieces of 25 cm each, for the outer layer - 4 pieces, but 30 cm each.

Step 8

Make the center piece. Take the longest braid of the ribbon, place it in front of you, wrong side up. Fold one of the corners to the wrong side so that the top of the corner extends a couple of centimeters beyond the edge of the tape. Start twisting the tape from this corner. You should end up with a long cone. Hold the layers together with a few stitches at the narrow end. Sew the middle and vertically.

Step 9

Prepare the ribbons for the petals. Fold the short edges of all pieces to the wrong side and baste. It is better to bend it at an angle, taking short cuts to the edge. Sew each piece along the same edge with a needle-forward stitch.

Step 10

Start attaching short pieces. Sew on the 2 shortest first so that the edges of one cover the edges of the other. The middle of the next pair should cover the joints of the first. Attach the rest of the pieces in the same way - first 25 cm long, then 30 cm each. Pull the bottom of the rose tightly with threads.
