Choose a fabric for a soft mouse. There are no restrictions for the flight of imagination, but it is better to take a soft, fleecy material so that the skin of the toy turns out to be slightly fluffy. You can use plush, velvet, corduroy, faux fur or felt in any color. To make the toy more fun, it is better to choose a bright fabric, possibly with a small floral pattern.
Step 2
Make a four-piece pattern. This is the torso, the lower wedge for it, the ear and nose. Each detail should be made in duplicate. The largest part is the teardrop-shaped body with a smoother lower edge. The bottom wedge must match the length of the wedge. The ear can be made in any shape, the main thing is that it does not turn out to be too large. Then the finished toy will fall on its side every now and then. The nose can be made round or even replaced with a button or a small bead. Cut out the details.
Step 3
Start sewing the toy. First of all, connect both parts of the body with the lower wedge, after which you can sew them to each other. Use a buttonhole seam on the wrong side. If you are using felt or drape, the seam is best done on the outside. It can be a decorative element of a toy, especially if you use bright thick threads of a contrasting color: pink, blue, green or gold. The denser and finer the stitch is, the stronger and more reliable the mouse will be sewn.
Step 4
Leave a small hole through which the fabric can be turned right out and filled with padding. It can be ordinary cotton wool, synthetic winterizer, remnants of finely cut fabric, foam rubber or holofiber, which is also used as a pillow filler.
Step 5
Attach the ears and nose to the head of the toy using a blind stitch. Mouse eyes can be purchased at handicraft stores or made by yourself by cutting them out of oilcloth, leather or velvet paper. The pupil can be marked with a shiny bead. Further decoration of the toy is a matter of personal taste. You can sew pieces of pink fur to the ears, attach a wire whisker and mark fluffy eyelashes around the eyes with large stitches if your mouse is a female. The tail will serve as a lace with a tassel at the end, and a braid woven from a floss, which can be crowned with a lush bow.
