Step 1
Use the online tuner or special programs to tune your guitar: AP Guitar Tuner, Gutar pro, Guitar Rig, GCH-Guitar Tuner, Tune It !, Pitch Perfect Tuner, Guitar Tuning, Guitar Tuning Fork, 6-String Guitar Tuning . These applications include software tuners that require you to connect your guitar to a computer's sound card or use a microphone, and simple programs that generate the correct key for each string that you can use to tune a six-string guitar by ear to standard tuning.
Step 2
For example, in the Guitar Tuner window, you will see note letters corresponding to certain strings. When you touch the string, the program transmits its sound. You are required to tune the guitar so that the strings match the notes. Use the hint - the arrow showing the deviation in the sound. It is not necessary to achieve complete coincidence of sounds, a slight deviation will not play a special role.
Step 3
Train your ear by tuning your guitar yourself. Use a tuning fork or piano to tune the first string (A). If you don't have these instruments at hand, listen to your landline phone, the beep in the receiver of which reproduces a clear "A" sound with a frequency of 440 Hz. The first string of the guitar, pressed down at the 5th fret, should sound the same way.
Step 4
Press down on the second string at the 5th fret and make it sound the same as the open first string (E). If the sounds of the strings merge into a single whole and one of them begins to vibrate when the other sounds, then the tuning was performed successfully.
Step 5
Follow these rules for further tuning: the third string, pressed down on the fourth fret, should match the sound of the open second string, and the fourth string pressed down on the fifth fret, with the third open. Tune the 5th string so that when pressed down at the 5th fret, it sounds like an open 4th string. Check to see if the 6th string played at the 5th fret matches the open 5th string.
