Recording music and other data to iPods is not done in the usual way. The operating system interface will not be enough for this - you will need a special program from the developers.
Instructions
Step 1
Download and install iTunes. It is specially designed to synchronize your iPod and your computer. Open your web browser and go to apple.com, go to the iPod section of the website and look for the Download iTunes link. Click on it, on the next page, select the required options and click the Download Now button. Wait for the program to download to your computer hard drive, then install.
Step 2
After the installation is complete, launch iTunes. To record music to your iPod, you must first add it to the program's music library. Select "File" -> "Add File to Music Library" (or "Add Folder to Music Library") from the menu. In the window that opens, select the necessary files, and then click the corresponding button to add music. Wait for the end of the copying process.
Step 3
To keep the music library always up to date in the future, make the appropriate changes to the program settings. Select in the menu "Edit" -> "Preferences" -> "Add-ons" -> "General" and check the box next to the item "Copy to iTunes Music folder when adding to the library". If you delete, move, or rename the original files added to the library will remain unchanged.
Step 4
Connect your iPod to your computer with a USB cable. Insert one end of it into the corresponding connector of the player, the other into the connector of the system unit.
Step 5
Open the Music tab in iTunes, select Sync Music, and then click Apply. Wait for the process of adding music to your player to complete.
Step 6
Use the ability to create playlists to record on the player not all the music available in iTunes, but only the one that is needed at the moment. When you select the "Sync Music" item, you can specify the specific playlists that you want to see on your player. The exact same playlists will appear on the iPod.
