In crocheting, various geometric shapes are often found - circles, squares and ovals, both in ordinary clothing items, and in jewelry, accessories, interior objects, and even in items of clothing for dolls. If knitting a simple square or an even circle is not difficult for most novice craftswomen, then knitting an elongated oval may seem difficult.
Instructions
Step 1
In order to knit an oval, you need to understand what shapes it consists of. An ordinary oval can be thought of as a rectangle with two semicircles embedded on the sides. These semicircles are crocheted by analogy with ordinary straight circles associated with symmetrical wedges.
Step 2
One semicircle consists of several wedges and has a center - an air loop. Knit the space between the semicircles with a simple straight stitch to form a rectangle.
Step 3
Determine how long and wide the oval you need, and then subtract the width from the length and determine the number of stitches in the main chain from which you will knit a straight section of the oval. On the left and right, add one loop to the chain for the center points of the semicircles.
Step 4
Having typed a chain of chain stitches, knit the first row - in the second chain loop from the side of the hook, knit two single crochets, and then in each subsequent loop of the chain, except for the last one, knit a row of single crochets.
Step 5
When you reach the last stitch, work three single crochets to form a second semicircle. On the other side of the chain, work one single crochet into the back half of all but the last stitch. Now knit a single crochet into the last half loop of the first semicircle. Connect the workpiece.
Step 6
Continue to knit the second row in a circle, like the first - knit two single crochets in each column of semicircles. In each column of the straight section, knit one single crochet. In the third and subsequent rows, knit two single crochets in the last column of each wedge.
Step 7
In the remaining columns, knit one column without a crochet. In wedges of semicircles, the number of posts should be equal to the number of the row. You can also crochet the oval with one or more crochets.
