When going to an unfamiliar body of water, you should correctly complete an arsenal of baits. Last but not least, this concerns baits for shallow water, where very tempting prey can be found.

When fishing in little-explored areas, there is a high probability of getting into shallow water, where large individuals of pike and perch of various sizes usually hunt in thickets of grass. In addition to proven techniques, shallow water fishing requires a well-chosen arsenal of baits. When it comes to shallow water lures, there are several factors to help you make your choice.

The weight of the bait should be 6-13 grams, but it is better to choose medium and large petals. If the surface wiring technique is lame, it is better not to take spinners: with a high probability they will be lost. In cloudy weather, the baubles must be mirrored, shades from pale green to pink are permissible.

The presence of a front sight in the tail of the bait is encouraged. Spinners with two lobes make too much noise in shallow water, so it is best to use slow stop & go fishing.

Buying a spinner in a store

When buying a spinner, you need to pay attention to a number of characteristics. First of all, the strength of the composite knots and loops is assessed; a hook or tee must be forged and of very high quality. Since the depth of the bait will be relatively small - only 1.5-2 meters - you should choose oscillating spoons with the thinnest petals. Rotating ones are best chosen with a matte brindle or spotted color: although in cloudy weather they are not particularly useful, with clear water they perfectly imitate the play of fry. In addition, in muddy water, poisonous pilkers provoke a predator to attack well.

Make a spoon with your own hands

You can easily make the oscillating spoon by yourself. This will require an old hard drive from your computer. The metal from which the disc is made is very thin and soft, easy to work with. Several different metal plates should be cut: oval, figure-eight, teardrop-shaped, with sharp and round edges. You can bend them as you like: in waves, diagonally, in the longitudinal direction. Before bending, it is better to apply a few dents to the surface so that the mirror is not so uniform. After making holes with such a petal, you can complete baits from DAIWA or Condor, where the supporting elements are of good quality.

Complete set of spinning lures

If during fishing none of the lures from the set has given the desired result, you can do an additional set of baits. For example, on a spinning spoon, you can install two petals of the same weight and size, but different in color. The tee can be replaced with a long red silicone bait with a good hook. Spoon flies also play an important role: the color change can please predatory fish. If, in clear weather, the set of matte spinners is small, mirror ones can be smoked right by the pond.
