All fishing lures can be roughly divided into three groups:

Popular bait of animal origin
This type of fishing bait is the most versatile. Therefore, using it allows a fisherman to count on catching both a completely "peace-loving" fish and a ruthless predator with an equal share.
The most popular bait among modern anglers who choose freshwater bodies for fishing is the worm. It can be a white earthworm that lives in the upper layers of the earth, and a "sub-leaf", which can be found under fallen leaves and stones, and a dung worm, on which both small fish and rather large specimens bite equally well, as well as a large earthworm, or crawling, is considered the most effective bait when catching large fish, including catfish.
Bloodworms are widespread among modern fishermen. This bait is a red-colored pusher mosquito larva and is used to catch white (non-predatory) fish. Carp, crucian carp, carp and barbel bite well on bait from boiled potatoes. The preparation of this fishy treat consists of dicing young potatoes, boiling them and adding hemp oil.
Artificial bait
Artificial bait is an imitation of animal or vegetable bait. To catch predatory fish on a spinning rod, fishermen use spinning and oscillating spoons, wobblers, twisters and their varieties. The most effective bait when fishing with fly fishing tackle is the front sight.
