For example, a flexible and lightweight rod with a thin line, a sensitive float and a small hook is suitable for fishing small and medium fish. To catch large fish, you need a rod with a high strength and thicker line.

Step 1
There are several ways to attach a line to a rod. First, decide on the length and thickness of the line depending on the rod and the weight of the expected catch. If you often deal with large fish, but the reliability of the tip is in doubt, additionally secure the fishing line to the second elbow equipped with a loop. With this method, even if the tip breaks while playing, the line will still not get tangled or lost.

At the same time, repeatedly and tightly wrap it around the tip, and then tightly put on the cambric. If you do not do it well enough, after fishing, the tip may bend, and the line segment from the loop to the elastic will be tightly stretched.

Most often, anglers use the fastening method with a hairpin. It is very simple and reliable, however you will need to install an additional part. Make a hairpin from a stainless steel spring wire with a diameter of 0.3 mm.

Tie it to the tip of the rod with a nylon or silk thread and cover with a waterproof varnish. Make sure that the tip of the stud is snug and springy against the rod. Secure the stud with a cambric by tightening it after threading the line.
Step 5
Finish off the rig with a piece of thick line as the pin can cut it under heavy loads. The resulting end stop will not allow the line to overlap around the hairpin.
Step 6
When assembling a blind rig, wind the line around the reel and then secure it to the tip of the rod with a PVC rubber tube. You can also attach it to a wire loop. This will prevent the line from getting pinched.
Step 7
The length of the free end of the line from the tip of the rod to the hook may correspond to the length of the rod or slightly exceed by 0.8-1.0 m. If you leave a longer line, it can get tangled, and it will be difficult to cast and play.
